I am dedicating this post our friend, Zoran (macedonia). Hope he will love this present!

Ilex Hairstreak (IH) is a relatively medium-sized butterfly with a wingspan of 32-36 mm. IH is one a few quite similar species in Turkey. You may also see the Satyrium myrtale in E Anatolia, Satyrium spini in most parts of Turkey (Except Aegean Region), Satyrium ledereri in most parts of Turkey (Except Turkish Thrace and W Anatolia) and Satyrium hyrcanium having a narrow distribution area in NE Anatolia (Bayburt, Artvin, Kars and Iğdır). However, the IH is different from the others by lack of sex-brand on upperside of forewings in males and the presence of the orange lunules on the hindwing underside bordered black on the outside.

It is found in Europe, S Fennoscandia, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, W & S Urals, and NW Asia. The adult butterflies fly in one generation (i.e. univoltine) from late May to early August according to altitude. The larval host-plants are Quercus(oaks) and Ulmus (elms) species. Eggs laid near dormant leaf-buds. Hibernates as an egg. Caterpillars attended by some ants belonging to the genera of Camponotus(carpenter ants) and Crematogaster (acrobat ants). It is observed in hot, dry oak scrubs; damp/dry heaths and forest clearings up to around 1600. The adult butterflies generally prefer the flowers of Thymus (thymes) and Sambucus (elderberries).

Merhaba hocam...

Sorry missed this one, Bayram Bhaijaan.

Zoran is a lucky guy and this is such a wonderful dedication to him, a man who likes macro photography as well as moods of sky.

Great mating scene you have captured in this lovely work. Eyecatchy colors and well chosen POV makes this work so interesting, whereas the blurry BG enhances the contrast. Well done sharpness and nice DOF also add points to the quality of this work. Well seen!

Quelle élégance avec leurs ailes duveteuses;
Beau support pour cette jolie scène d'étreinte.
