Amsterdam Sail 2010

Here an impression of the sail-in of the Amsterdam Sail 2010 event. The Russian Sedov tall ship during the sail in parade over the Northsea canal near Nauerna halfway IJmuiden and the harbor of Amsterdam.

Was it busy? ...yeah, quite I would say. Thousand of boats were on the water, a crazy view and to realize nothing happened. In the next days I hope to show some more pictures from this biggest nautical event in the world.

Shot this picture with my good old Nikon D70s.

PP work, only a slight adjustment of levels and curves, a small crop, resized and sharpened using USM, add frame.

Hi Hans,
Youv'e certainly captured the allure these Tall Ships have, they do bring crowds of spectators.
This is not a negative obsevation, but there is some sort of white oblong about two thirds down on the left side,& I can't figure out what it is?

hi Hans the image captures the atmosphere of the event well good colurs and pov like old and modern in unision nice work
tfs regards bryan

Bonjour Hans,

Wow! Majestueux et impressionant!!!
Superbe ambiance et un jour tout en couleurs. Bravo et merci pour le partage.

Lots of action, colour and fun in this shot Hans.
good detail and definition.
I wonder how long it took to thread all the flags on the tall ship!

I can see the white rectangle that Ron refers too, but I have to admit, I had to look for it, so it's not blatently obvious with so much going on in this shot.
It directly above, and slightly to the left of the black hulled boat, centre left.
I suspect a bad block sector on the area of disk the image has been uploaded to and not anything wrong with the camera sensor.

Nice shot, Hans,

well done

Bonjour Hans,

merhaba dear Hans..
kalabalık bir barınak, yaz güzel geçiyor olmalı, iyi tatiller herkese...selamlar

Hi Hans,
a nice colourful shot with lots of interesting things going on, I have read your thread on the white rectangle and I am still not sure what it is

WOW~ I would love a day on the water with sights like this! Well done Hans! I like the vertical crop, the only way to go here! Nice levels, in the bright sunshine! I guessed F11 and I was right, this is what you used! Excellent color.. the ONLY thing that I would change is leveling the horizon! It's crooked, off by maybe close to 2 degrees, unless this was intentional for dramatic effect. However the scene doesn't need anymore drama, it has plenty! I do see the white rectangle others are seeing...not sure what it is.
