Just to say Hello

Friday morning Practice Session 1.1
Everybody was happy on this cool Friday morning. Fans were happy to see the cars on the circuit Gilles Villeneuve after one year absence in 2009.
The drivers too were happy to come back to Canada. Here Fernando Alonso was saluting the fans as he exited pit lane for his very first lap of the week-end.
Image cropped to have better focus on him. I attached another crop as a workshop.
My colleagues are on vacation this summer. That means I end up with extra duties and work. Therefore my limited time on line. I will be back with more photos and comments in September .
Just wanted to say Hello, with the Help of Fernando. (^_^).
Fernando is pretty hot these days. The rest of the Formula One Championship will be very interesting this year, with five drivers fighting for the title.

This crop woorks for me and nice to catch a wave! Exposure works well with the famous Ferrari Red spot on. Very pro-looking shot. My only concern is too much framing and I think the inner white line immediately around the image could be done away with?
Regardless of that, this is a class shot and nice to see!

Hi Robert,I like both of your images,no preference, both are top notch,IMHO.
I like the clarity of details & the sharpness of both images.Obviously you know the sport well & when it is the best time & location to capture the image this clearly. When the driver exits the pit lane, I assume his speed is slower than when he is competing on a lap? so this would allow a better opportunity to capture such a good shot, but one still must be very good at panning.May I ask what ISO was used for the shutterspeed used?

hI Robert..great panning..this shot is super sharp with a nice angle....
