[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A waterlily raises its face to the sun in the Aquatic Garden at the Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Water lilies are from the family of flowering plants called Nymphaeaceae.

Taken hand-held with my 70-300 telephoto zoom lens. f/11 was used to get a medium DOF. I was fortunate that the sun came out for this shot, creating the warm colors and sparkles at the edges of the pads.

Hi Sandy...
Beautiful macro...
Beautiful light, colors, presentation...

Hi sandy:
Nice work on this one...
I like the filtering light coming through the petals...
Great control of sharpness & dof!!!

Oh Nice! But what I really like is the water drops in the BG on the lily pad! That makes for an interesting effect....I would be finding a way to make a Bokeh out of it! Nice sharpness here!

Hi Sandy,

This is awesome. The water drops on the lily's pads are a highlight. The colors are subdued, attractive, and to my taste. I would, however, darken the flower core ever so slightly. Cheers

Hello Sandy,

Excellent macro of this beautifull flower, I like the water drops in the B/G.
The great light and colors, wonderfull petals and perfect sharpenss.
Best regards.

Sorry, missed this lovely post, Sandy!

What a beauty you have captured in this wonderful closeup shot from light pink colored waterlily as it looks so tender and soft against a dark waters. The bokeh is simply superb where the tiny droplets make a pleasant scene to enjoy. The sharpness and POV are amazing and focus is spot-on. Well done!

Hi Sandy..you have a nice way of bringing out the art in these shots. For me it is sometimes difficult to critique shots of flowers but yours are different...nice work.
