Good morning,

A bit of a journalistic shot. I am on duty this week. Well I opted to use my camera this time. Lately I kept it in my camera bag without using it much. My work load prevented me to shoot and share images (^_^).

So, this one was captured this morning after I disembarked from the MV Stella Nova operated by Jumbo Shipping of Rotterdam .

The MV BBC Rio Grande in the background started to load this morning.

She is a regular caller ,as it is already her eight visit in port this year. Curious ? See the technical drawings .

Note they are docked stern to stern. Why ? Well the ship's cranes on the BBC Rio Grande are on the port side and on the starboard side for the Stella Nova. To minimize listing, and ballasting while vessel is loading, both Masters prefer to have the ship's gear as close as possible from the lifting point. Very useful when your are loading heavy lifts.

The Rio Grande is loading windmills sections while the Stella Nova will be loading locomotives.

Technically: A little correction of the horizon forced me to crop slightly the shot. Shadow and Highlights correction with minor color changes.

Have a great day !

Good EVENING Robert - well, sunset here in an hour!!!

Nice photo, good use of perspective and very sharp overall. The big black frame suits the subject well too - these frames definitely the Perryhooter trademark ;-)

Hello Robert,
I do so enjoy your photos of the ships in port and your explanations about them. This one has a particularly good use of perspective, and is as sharp and clear as it is possible to be.

Hello Robert!

Love this shot- it's so straight edged and simple. Nice colors, lighting, and details. I do love the crop as well- not a lot of distractions.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Robert,
Your marine impressions re always a fine photographic topic, this is no exception. Wonderful close up, superb sharpness showing all the interesting details. Great shot, well captured and presented!
