[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Kaitoke Beach is the longest white sandy surf and swimming beach (non patrolled)on Great Barrier Island. Access onto the beach is from Ocean View Road and also at the southern end of the beach. Around the rocks on the southern end of beach is a wonderful rock pool known as the “Mermaid pool” where people can swim. There is good fishing and diving from the rocks and at low tide you can walk onto the island just off the beach. Dotterel and Oystercatchers nest on the foreshore and Brown Teal can be seen in the rivers at both ends of the beach.

Hi Tim
It looks good, the placement of popping big rock in far distance and the rocky horizon at right.
The exposure is pretty fine at f/9. I might like this one more if it was taken from a little lower pov :)

All new beaches to me - sounds like a great place to visit (Gt Barrier I mean)
Tim, you always know how to get the best shots at the beach. Well done on your composition here. Showing the breaking wave and dried grass - just perfect

Hi Tim,

Really nice seascape, the designs in the sand are compelling, they draw our eyes to the waves and then the sea where that rocky outcropping appears on the horizon. Nice and natural colors. Great note, too, sets us up to see that Mermaid Pool...

nice shot Tim, good 2/3 composition and very natural light, a true shot, a reality bite.

Galder

Wonderful shot Tim

hmmmm . . . looks pretty much like the beach in California! heheheh

I like the contrast in textures between the sand and surf in this photograph and how your eye is drawn into the photo by the patterns in the sand.

Keep shootin'

Hi Tim,
Good low POV on this. Really nice tracks in the sand with the water flowing in adds good dimension to this. Great natural colors and fine looking water. Good job on this. TFS Julie
