We get our internet via radio waves with an antenna that points to a WiFi antenna that is perched atop a grain silo. Its worked on and off and lately not at all.

We had promises that they would come and change the antenna and still so far have not heard from them but they obviously fixed something as today I have the internet but its terribly slow but I took a chance on uploading.

Taken from inside the house through our blue tinted windows.I did not like the colors so turned it into B&W.

Hi Dot,

What an awesome image !!! it looks so soft and quiet, peaceful.
It works very well in b&w and the framing emphesizes the "movement" from right to left, gradual from dark and detailed to light and soft.
I don't know if it was possible without overgraining but maybe a little sharper would be good.

hi there,

this is beautifully composed, textbook shot. a good example of 'rule of thirds' in photography class. love the mood created by the fog over the lake/river. looks good in b&w.

Hi Dot,
Good luck with getting your internet connection fixed. I can imagine it has something to do with the winter weather. I like the minimalistic feel to the photo which is enhanced by converting it to black and white. I can't help to think that a small crop from the bottom would help to make the composition stronger.

Hi, Dot,
You have my sympathy for internet problems. That's such a pain. I love this shot. It looks so calm and peaceful. Very well composed, great tones and I love that mist rising from the water. I think the B&W was an excellent choice. Hope the winter isn't getting you down. Many thanks and warm regards,

Hi Dot!

You made it through! This photo has a very nice mood to it. The B&W looks great! I love the reflection and fog coming off the water. It must be nice to not have to leave the house to capture a shot like this. :) Very well composed too!

Hi Dot
I'm so happy seeing your post again. Dennis informed me about your internet poblems otherwise I would have worried about you.

I love both photos, the original and the B&W.
It's a beautiful and romantic scenery. The reflection of trees is so great. TFS

Hi Dot,
I love this photo; the distant and sharp subject and the misty atmosphere, and of course the fantastic light and the elegant b/w presentation.
My best regards, mb

Hi Dot,

I like this simple, pleasing, and artistic winter scene. The b&w conversion is appropriate and skillfully rendered. Crisp and noisefree. So happy to hear that your WiFi antenna is working again. Best regards my dear.

Hello Dot,

You must be so frustrated!
Slow Internet has that effect on me!!

A wonderfully moody shot and one that would look so well on the walls of a modern room of neutral colours.
I think you were right to opt for b&w; it gives a little more visual impact.
The composition is lovely and I like the contrast between the sharp reflection to the right and the blurred, misty reflections to the left.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Olá, Dot!

I like this composition, my friend.
Wonderful contrast and reflection.
Good framing and the fog is lovely.
Well done job, dear Dot. COngratulations!

Hello dear Dot, good day!

Oh dear so sad to listen that you got difficulties with internet, wish you get the fastest.... ;)
Well, very dramatic shot of this misty winter view but would love to see the color version of this place.

TFS, indeed good one!

Hi Dot,

The old boat house looks like it's positioned right at the thirds intersection. A nice minimalistic composition, with the mist giving it an eerie feeling. The lone anchor buoy provides an interesting secondary element and B&W was an excellent choice for this.

I hope they fix your connectivity problems soon.

Warm regards,

Bonjour Dot! Bravo!

Hello Dot!
What an awesome image! With great reflections, fine contrast, tones and
foggy atmosphere!Just perfect!
Regards and tfs

I know i had to come back to this one Dot, a moody scene , well it has to do with the mist rising on the river for sure, when there is mist there is mood and the opportunity of a great shot , there you go, you do/did not have to step away very far from the house to get the view , hi hi , oh hopefully you get your internet back in order,

Hi Dot,
I think it is more a painting
than a photo. Great reflection.
A beautifull winter scene very
well shot. I like the soft cool
mood of the water and the sky.
Enjoy your day.

Ciao Dot

Stunningly beautiful, this local effect,
Mistico and peacefull.
I like the image on the right with all
trees dry and the bottom dense fog
already makes that mysterious area.
Nice quality picture with depth and perspective.
What a lovely soft winter picture!

Bonjour Dot,
Exquise image! Annie

Hi Dot,

such a beautiful monochrome. truly expressive!

dear Dot,
still and calm atmosphere is very nice,
left misty view and right dark trees and house make beautiful depth of space,
wide sky and settled water surface are a wonderful stage for this mysterious scene,
thank you for your attractive picture,

Hello Dot, I have been very busy recently and have missed some of your latest shots.I do like this one, it is very minimal but very effective.
An excellent composition imo.
Converting to b/w was an excellent idea, it works really well.
Regards Jean.
P.S.I have looked at the original and I like that alternative too, but the b/w has a stronger impact, well done.
