Late January is about the time of year when I get so sick of the relentless cold, snow and ice around here that I'd do just about anything if spring would just come along a bit faster. I decided to look through my archives for a warm weather image to post today. This one is from my return visit to Switzerland last summer. I went back to one of my favorite places in the world - an Alpen garden inside the Pont-de-Nant nature preserve high above the town of Bex. The vast outdoor garden contains flower species from all over the world. I hope this one brings a bit of warmth to your day.

Hi Sandy,

I prefer warm weather myself and I am grateful for this posting. Fine depth you achieved here. The straw-like features of the petals are sharp, there is a noiseless b/g. I have seen macro postings of this same flower emphasizing the Fibonacci spiral from the yellow/orange core. Well done, regards

I'm with you on being sick of winter!! I am counting the days till a winter get-away!
Lovely little flower Sandy .. love the shallow DOF. Great detail and sharpness in the flower .. and very nicely composed shot.
Hang in there .. the days are getting longer. That's always a good sign.

Hello Sandy Garfinkel,

Wonderful focus on the main flower while leaving the other second one with perfect shallow depth, the sharpness is perfect, very well chosen POV and beautiful second flower gives her mirror effect image, superb contrast colors with green BG,metering is perfect with great exposure, very well captured and beautiful presentation, well done.

Have a nice day,
Mushtaq Hussain

Hi Sandy,
Beautiful twins, one in perfect shrpness and the blurred one to balance marvelously the composition.
Great sharpness and lighting with perfect exposure.
Very neat work.
Best regards,

Nice shot Sandy , well i can't blame you , not a fan of winter myself , the kind of image that brightens up my day in a most evocative way , i dream of summer every day that passes , love the sharpness and particularly the blurred flower , i like the effect the diagonal alignement of them flowers produces , well placed in the frame , nice play with tones too and the saturation is just perfect , i like that !
