Last night we got around 1” – 2” of snow in the area. This morning I took this from the roof of the parking garage I use when I’m at work in downtown Baltimore. The stadium to the left is our baseball stadium, and the one to the right is the football stadium. I think it’s a waste to have two stadiums, but who am I to complain?

In the center, off in the distance, is the interstate exchange I use when I drive in each day. It’s called spaghetti junction, and if you look closely you’ll see why.

This was taken with my Nikon P&S, which for an old/little camera does a good job. I only cropped, sharpened and resized.

Have a great Friday!

Hi Werner,
Good view here !! A very winter scene indeed. I like the mid-houses all lined up like little soldiers. The lighting marquee on the left stadium is a nice bonus. Have a great day and Tfs Julie

Hi Werner,

I am impressed that you carried your cam early this morning. DC also got around 1” – 2” of snow. As I view the two Baltimore stadiums shown here, it made me remember Redrubin because he persistently requested a baseball photo from the Camden Yard. I finally made it to an Oriole's night game last spring and even got an autograph of the legendary Cal Ripken Jr. - a pity though that Redrubin is no longer active here. You skillfully metered the scene (snow always give me griefs) and the sky offers some subtle colors. Have a good w/e.

Hi Werner - Great panoramic shot of a view most of us will never see. I agree with you about the stadiums (stadia?) We have two in San Diego and the Chargers want the taxpayers to build them a new one (maybe that's why they are all of a sudden winning...)

Hi Werner,

I like this shot of Baltimore showing all of the row houses. The two stadiums are interesting. Nice to see the view with the snow. We have a "spaghetti junction" in Atlanta too! ;) Lisa

Hi Werner!

This is an interesting POV, and nice use of title made famous by James Taylor. Ahhh, those were the days. I've never been to Baltimore, so it's nice to see it from this perspective.

Indy won't support a pro baseball team. Heck, we won't support the Colts if they lose. We are a fair-weathered group of sports fans. Knowing this, they put a roof on our dome, or they'd never sell tickets.

Great job of using 1/3rds. I'm amazed at how good these little P&S cameras do.

Well, even after seeing this great site, you're still the only reason for me to visit Baltimore. :)

Hi Werner

I just looked out my window 5 minutes ago, & noticed sharp icicles around 2 feet long, hanging off the building across the street. I hope we don't have an 'ice storm' like they sometimes do in Canada. A superb high pov across the city with the subtle sunset or sunrise colors enhancing the scene. Tfs!

Werner, I sent many years in Baltimore & the Washington, D.C. area. This shot brings back many memories. Good to see the old stomping grounds once again.

Must be a sign of affluence to have two stadiums ;-) Nice clear shot of Baltimore in winter TFS
warm regards
David

Hola Werner
Buena imagen urbana desde lo alto con una gran vista de los tejados y edificios nevados , magnifica luz y color suave del cielo

Buen trabajo

hi Werner,

normally roofs and high pov of cities are not attractive or graceful to shoot, but this one looks nice to me; it is ballanced and your note gives info to comprehend better what there is and making it more interesting.

thanks for sharing,

Galder

Although some of the nearby rooftops aren't too flattering to the scene I just like the overall shot as it shows how bleak winter can look - especially in the city!! Nice and sharp with a few hints of colour here and there! Nice to get the faint pink of sunrise.

I reckon this would work well with a pano crop too..

Cheers
DAvid

Ciao Werner

Beautiful visual where the stars are the roofs,
I love the composition and the beautiful frozen
effects that have roofs and snow!
There are so many information, lines, curves, shapes.
Real colors, sharpness and clarity are very nice.
Very well done,

Best regards,

Sergio
