[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
An African Penguin seen through the glass of its habitat at the National Aviary.

"They are about two feet tall and weigh 6.8 to 8 pounds. Penguins are birds that cannot fly, but swim very well and spend most of its life at sea. The African Penguin swims at a speed of about 4-15 miles per hour, but are prey for gulls, ibis, octopus and sharks.
This species is vulnerable due to over-fishing of their food supply, pollution from oil tankers and removal of nesting sites being used for fertilizer." - www.aviary.org

Unfortunately there were water spots on the glass that were too numerous to clone out, but I thought the image was worth posting regardless.

Bom dia Sandy,
Excellent timing! Very well seen and captured, good focus, colors, originality and expression.
Great one.

Very nice capture, Sandy!
I think, this African Penguin is not that happy that you are taking her picture :)
A wonderful shot with wonderful sharpness and taken from a nice POV. The DOF is managed nicely. Great details and indeed a nice note on the picture.
Well done!

thanks and regards,
Paras Bhalla

Very nice picture
Sharp and clear !
Love the eye expression
Good job

Beautiful Penguin ^^

Nice shot It really highlights the beautiful coat and markings of the penguin - also the swimming technique TFS
warm regards

It is an interesting image and the water spots on the glass do not hurt at all, just part of the environment. You timed the shot well and used a fast shutter speed to freeze the water as it is moved my the swimming penguin. The colors in this image also work together very well. TFS

Hi Sandy,
Very sharp shot! Lucky the water was clear, the details look fantastic! Well frozen water droplets from the 1/800s shutter speed too. Nicely captured.

Hi Sandy,
A wonderful portrait vith lovely composition.TFS.

yeah, too bad about the water spots on the glass, but hey ... that couldn't be avoided. I like this Sandy ... nice sharp details - love the "splash" on the water surface behind him. Great job
have a nice weekend

Dear Sandy
