Hello everyone…

Thinking about touring the Byblos Castle? Maybe!!! If yes…. You’re welcome again… today I will be your guide for a while!

This collage (photoshop) was made during my last trip to Byblos castle, went through every corner of it, every POV, every mood, and every history I was told about while being there… the amount of infos I was exposed to was really overwhelming… so I decided to simplify it in the following:
(the same castle info’s used in the post: for Janone)…

About the castle:

Byblos Castle, Jubayl in Lebanon is one of the important attractions in Jubayl that has withstood the ravages of time. It forms a part of the Jubayl Tours and receives numerous visitors who come to witness the architecture of the crusaders of the 12th Century the Period of the Crusades.

Byblos Castle is one of the masterpieces built by the crusaders as the mark of their victory in the holy land. It is located 34 degrees to the north and 35 degrees to the east of the city of Jubayl. It was built around the 12th century with limestone with the remnants of the Roman structure that was ravaged. The entire structure was surrounded by a wide moat to protect the main structure from encroachments by the aggressors.

Saladin, The Sultan of Egypt and Syria was at the height of power in the 12th century when he captured the town and ordered the castle to be brought down. The walls of the castle were dismantled in the form as it stands today in 1190. Soon after the fall of Saladin, The crusaders recaptured the historic town of Byblos and got the castle reconstructed and repaired in 1197.

Hope you enjoy the tour… any questions I will be pleased to answer…. For now have a great day and plz leave your critics and comments …

Best wishes

Hi Sozy,
beautiful collage.Beautifl colours good light and sharpness.TFS.Necla.

Hello Dear Suzy.
Gorgeous work of you to organize this perfect collage.
It almost looks to be only one picture, so well are they choiced together.
I just had a look behind me, to look at the framed Picture of 40*30 cm behind glass, which I took there in Februari 1974.
Please continue with pictures captured their.!
I still have to find the many slided from that period and get them digitized.
Best wishes from Jan

Hi Suzy, An interesting collage, showing the various parts of this historic old castle with very informative notes. It is a very different, and much better, side of Lebanon, that we see on TV. No agenda to follow, your gallery is an insight into a wonderful part of the world TFS. Murray.

Salve Suzy
ciao

Lucio

Bonjour Suzy,

Nice montage. I normally don't score such king of image, but this one is well done with good taste. Black framing is well chosen and the blue line is very discret but present. What I appreciate the most is the good balance of all images. The all have excellent sharpness and exposure is very even from one image to the next. Good work and TFS.

Hi Suzy,
This is a complete and thorough perspective of Byblos Castle. The clouds certainly in most frames appear to have HDR. A most interesting Note you wrote. Details and textures ought to be commended. Best regards.

dear Suzy,
why do you like the old castle...I don't know.
but in my feeling, the long time has vanished the cruel elements of the castle, and it remains traces of human activities as tasteful ambience of history...isn't it?
anyway I like old stone buildings like each your shot there,
and your dramatic PP works make the oldness changing new feeling.
the time puts back the stones to nature,
the sky with wind and rain is the greatest artist there.
thank you for your historical shots,
Akihisa

Dober dan moja draga prijateljica,

danes ti pisem v svojem jeziku. Kompozicija, ostrina in barve so neverjetne. Vidi se, da ze dobro obvladas nov aparat :)

Vec ti pa povem ko se slisiva.

Lep pozdrav,

Stasa

PS I have decided to write a few critiques in my language (need to promote SLO language a bit)

Hi Suzy - this is a very effective way to present your pictures of the castle - a great idea which is worth copying for some of my images.

Well Suzy, this is a amazing collage, The detail of each shot is spectatctular, I can't see any thing wrong with any of the shots that you included. On a side note to your note Saladin if my understanding of middle eastern history is correct tried to unify all Arabs as one and that bit of historical fact was used as a plot line in a book that have read By Richard Marcinko titled "Holy Terror". As well as the Movie with orlando bloom has some historical fact about Saladin.
These shot just are calling out to me as history is one of my favorite topics.
