A different one today :)
Den Lille Havfrue, or The Little Mermaid, is one of the best well-known postcards on Köbenhavn. It was created my sculptor Edvard Christian Johannes Eriksen in 1913, using his lovely wife as model. So in 23 August 1913 the Statue was mounted at Langelinie as a gift for the People of Köbenhavn. The Mermaid has suffered several acts of depredation and vandalism over the years, but it is still beloved my many and persists as symbol of Danmark.
When i took this photograph the weather was horrible and the Mermaid looked very dull and colourless. SO I decided to make her different.
I inverted the colours and played with hue/saturation until I got the desired effect. Then I twisted the picture to make Mermaid straight and city tilted (yes, it was on purpose). I think it gave a diferent view :))

Hope you like dit.
Sorry Danish people. I just wanted to make her look nice ;)))

take care everybody, Stef

Hi Stefania

I like the high key tones in the mermaid. All other images I've seen of this have been much darker. The graphism is incredible, & sharpness impeccable. Well done!

Nice idea Stefania, you really cleaned her up a bit

It's always nice to shoot statues and this mermaid is very attractive. Hope you don't mind me saying so, but if it were my shot, I'd erase the background completely. I think she'd look great with just a black background. But that's only my opinion. I'm sure you like it the way it is :)

Stefania you have done a great job to makes this one...the oroginal is so well know and you make it different.

Velkommen til København, Stef, hope, you've had a great stay in one of my most beloved cities.... According to the others: great job done here. Never thought 'bout the idea shooting a millionfold subject just to invert the pic afterwards and present it to you here on TL.... Hmmmm....
And she does look so nice here, representing the loneliness of her life on earth, between all of us human beings for avery special one she left her usual life, she gave up her freedom in the seas....

the little mermaid! how could anyone vandalise her... boooo.. well i guess like all us women she's had a tough time but still retains her grace despite it all :-)

cool shot sweetie! i always like inverted stuff.. she looks so smooth this way.. like she's made of milk.. it's funny the new perpsective inversion gives things ^_^

well done and big PB hugs!

p.s.. thank you for the card!!!! you made me smile so much honey... what a great friend you are :-)) i'll write more tomorrow!

Fica bem,amiga

Very Classy image you cought here Stefania
It's a real joy to look at, very artsy and beautiful.
Thanks for sharing

Very creative work Stef, the contrast with the bg is very original here..good job on the PP,tried a variation myself ...made a ws

You know Stef... I really have a problem with my time... I want to visit TL more often, and longer, but alas... And so I am missing posts!

This statue means a lot, it brings back memories of my youth... (once upon a time, a long time ago...:))
The story of the little mermaid, vanishing in foam... such a frightfull end for such a lovely creature...! On me, being a little boy, it was a story with heavy impact those days.
This statue was mentioned in that story, so you revived my memories, and brought me that same old melancholic feeling I had back then, which imo, is a good thing from time to time... Judging your work by that emotion, I say: Great work, thanks for bringing it here!

I thought it was flash-lit :)
Nice idea to show the famous mermaid this way. I like it.

Very symbolic sculpture, I like anyway..
This is a very creative way to show and the result is interesting.
I like it
