Roman Forum, Athens
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|The Gate of Athena Archegetis is locatged at the entrance to the Roman forum in Athens, near the Roman Agora and the Acropolis.|
We visited the Roman forum the day before the first snowstorm in decades in Athens, and the sky was already starting to cloud over. Given the moody sky and a plethora of ruins to shoot, I opted to do most of my photography during our stay in Athens in infrared. I shot several wider images of the gate, but most of them included one or more of thew stray dogs that dotted the Forum. I liked this tight detail the best, with the moody clouds and the birds perched along the ledges.
Shot with my infrared-only Canon Digital Rebel XT, converted to grayscale and adjusted for contrast.

I can almost see every little detail on each stone! pretty good light and lovely frame! B/W looks great here! I like the bird on the right side, adds a character to this stunning composition..
