I can picture you sitting at this table with your beer, thinking of cinema, looking at people around you...

Nanni Moretti says in one of his movies, "Palombella rossa" I think it was, "chi parla male, pensa male e vive male. bisogna trovare le parole giuste. le parole sono importanti!" - roughly translated, it means that if you speak badly, you will think badly and you will live badly; you need to find the right words - words are important!
(I could quote Chomsky again here - but I won't =)

yes, words are important. we define ourselves through our choice of words. and you always choose your words carefully, it seems to me. for this I am grateful =)

ahahahahahahahahah you should be a writer. First you start with excellent introduction of Moretti, which convinces us that you will continue in that style...and then a sudden twist in the story and you talk about beer. Excellent!

I love the note and the image dear friend. Just like Cris said...I can definitely imagine you sitting at this table and talking and thinking of cinema...but next time maybe with Cris and me? ;) That would be great experience.

Wonderful image (really high quality shot) that got me in a really good mood. :):) It is great to see you keep a diary...me too. And I usually write whole essays in it. ahahahahahahahahahahahah

You built your image with multiple layers and transparency in a beautiful harmony of colors and forms!! Seeing the bottle through the glass of beer, I think that you built your comment with the same way! We must see behind the words to go where you want that we go! You have the talent to choose the good idea or pretext to bring your artistic intention. The passage at Caro Diario is in this case.

link between nanni and beer is typical from a stranger (or from a movies maniac)! ;)) I dont know why.. but i think no one.. italian.. could make the same link!.. ;)) it's expecially cause birra moretti is birra moretti.. and nanni moretti is nanni moretti, here.. ;)) it's not enought to have the same second name.. even if.. you made me laught a lot with this paragon.. never thought about it!! ;))
i really love Nanni Moretti.. is one of my favorite italian movie maker! and in truth.. i dont love so much the beer.. sure it's not my favorite!.. unfortunately we are not able to make a good beer here in italy! ;))
Nanni is a progressist.. a democratic.. even if it's more exact to say.. that he is a comunist.. in the old italian sense of the meanings (partito comunista italiano sure was one of the most original interpretation and expirience of the european past context.. of course.. because, first thing.. we are italians.. with our own way to look at the world)! ;))
I'm not crazy.. it's not a bad way to classificate him.. cause his political orientation.. had influenced the great part of his production.. "ecce bombo", "palombella rossa", "la seconda volta" "aprile", "il caimano" some of his title more famous in this sense!.. His criticism about italian society.. is always ironic, acute and strong.. but what i like more of his way to make cinema.. is the delicate and brightly humor.. maybe unic in italy..
caro diario.. is a wonderful film indeed.. great expecially for the big surrealism! but here in italy there wasn't a big entusiasm for the Cannes victory from a part of mass media.. expecially for his open affiliation to a specific politic part!! the same thing was about Dario Fo nobel of 1997! but you know we are not a free press nation! ;))
my favorite movie is.. without doubts.. aprile.. for a lot of reasons!! i think it's not understable from a stranger.. cause it's typical of italian facts and mood of these past years (1998).. however there is a part dedicate expecially to the born of his first son.. and in it.. a wonderful use of Einaudi's "le onde".. in a beautiful scene taken on Tiberina Island in Rome!..
as you understand.. sure i'm a progressist.. and he was my hero in a lot of movies i have seen.. i dont agree with him about a lot of things.. but to look to a Nanni Moretti movie is always a pleasure.. old or new movies.. they always have a wonderful taste of intelligence.. ;))

Interesting composition. The slightly distorted beer bottle reflection in the glass beside it creates an unusal effect. Even without your note, I would have guessed that it was taken in an Italian piazza based upon the feel of the image. Well done.

wow...this is a superbs shot of clarity and sharpness. The deliberate framinf focusses on its title is very much appreciated.
Texture of the bread, the golden beer and the reflection on the glass surface is nice looking at.
The stylish man with hat is very special to note.
The culture is well observed and learned too.
It would be different to see what is served on out evening table.
Still bubbling and big glass, only it is tea with milk well shaken to give a special brew too. Really nice and it looks the same with the man with heavy moustache.

Your photo opens correctly the mouth completely largely, it looks in such a way as if it would have stretched the tongue and showed the beer to try, that you us wonderful. Beautiful colors and a good macro picture.
