[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Shot at the University of Pittsburgh vs. St. Johns University college basketball game this past Sunday. Pittsburgh is currently the top-ranked team in the USA, which is very exciting if you happen to live in Pittsburgh and you are a lifelong college basketball freak like me.

The scene captured here is the moment of suspended animation just before the official start of the game ... the referee has raised the ball between two players and is about to toss it high in the air, at which point the players will leap to try to tap the ball toward a waiting teammate. There are few moments in sports more pregnant with tension than the opening tip off.
