The next chapel of my series, captured from the seashore of Vík, a lovely old village with 300 inhabitans. This is my personal favourite among the chapels.
As I cropped it out from a bigger photo, unfortunately the image remained a bit noisy and the sky washed out, beacause of though weather.

Good morning Kristof,

I must say that you have done really good work with this photo. Good composition and very intense colours (I really like the colour of the chapel's roof - it creates great contrast with the green hills).

Beautiful photo.

Have a nice day,

Stasa

hello Kristof,

interesting looking place again.. its so iceland.. i can recognized the place immediately.. wonderful landscape shot.. tfs..

regards, terry

Hi Kristof,

what a charming chapel!
It is like from a fairy-tale, placed in the middle of naked green country with its red roof and bright facade.
I do not mind white sky...actually i prefer sky white :)
But I did a WS for you of alternative composition without white sky just out of curiosity.

Wish you lovely Sunday,
jeri

Hello Kristof,
If I were sitting in this Chapel with this massive ash hillside overhead I would be praying from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. A grand image of this beautiful Chapel and hillside. I placed a workshop for you to change the sky, it may not be the way it was, but I like it. It does have clouds now anyway...
Steve

wonderful landscape
ciao

Hi Kristof, very impressive shot. It looks like such a desolate place, and that terrain on the hill - very interesting. and of course the little church really pops out and is well situated in your shot. Too bad about the sky, but hey - still a great shot.
Trudy

hi kristof,
great placement of the church at the right bottom of the frame.it shows the magnitude of the landscape.the red roof stands out well.
good composition.

regards,
rmkrshnn.

Hi Kristof,
Beautiful landscape and well taken picture,
great composition and details,
Nice scene and well presented..
great shot my friend.
compliments et trčs jolie photo..
Bon dimanche.
Michel

Hello Kristof,

This is a brave composition but I love where you have positioned the church!
Its red roof draws in the eyes despite its competition with the tall, surrounding hills.
However, this competion gives it a greater stature that it should be compared with something so dominant!

Well done, my friend,
Bev :-)

hello K

It is very interesting when I compare the chapel I posted earlier with this one you posted here, both backed by a mountain but obviously your view here has good clear space and neat grass all over the place, unlike our tropical rainforest covering everywhere. Very nicely compsed scenic view and well placed position of the chapel. Great shot.

tfs, bill

Hi Kristof

I don't know if you are using Photoshop to process your images before uploading, but this shot would benefit well from a darkened gradient to reduce the brightness of the sky and upper part of the mountain.

I very much like the composition you have chosen for this one, issues with resolution aside I think it works very well.

Hi my friend...
Beautiful shot...
Nice perspective...

Interesting contrast between the rugged mountain and the almost toylike chapel showing that the area though rough is inhabited. I prefer your natural colours to the workshop. Psalms 121 says "If I lift my eyes to the hills, where shall I find help? my help comes only from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth" TFS Good job
Warm regards
David

HI Kristof
The mountain overpowers the chapel making it look like a miniature. Well done even the erosion of the mountain is tack sharp.
Dot

Hi Kristof,
I love this composition with a large imposing mountain compared to the tiny neat chapel. Nce positioning too. The sky does not bother me much as it is only a small part of the shot.

Subashini

Olá Kristof

Uma paisagem belíssima e muito bem registrada.
O ponto de vista é lindo, as cores formidáveis. O detalhe da igrejinha ao pé do morro está maravilhoso. Um trabalho excelente.

Nice work on this Kristof! I agree the sky is washed out, but the total focus is on the church and the red roof!. Maybe a tighter crop would have worked. Nice work on this!

I you meet and see this, nothing can go wrong Kris!!

The Pov is superb Kristof , i swear i did not even think of getting this angle for a shot of this church ( it's up on the hill right ? )anyhow the green mountain so charateristic of Iceland is an overwhelmingly strong BG to the rustic little church, too bad for the washed out sky and the presence of the jeep though but nevertheless a good one from your series ,
tfs,
Carol

Hello Kristof:)
so very beautiful landscape ...and this little church with red roof look almost unreal ..Perfect shot :))

warm regards

Szia ismet!

Hello Kristof,
Superb compo from an excellent pov with beautiful colours and contrasts. Here in the mountains we can see how small we humans are in nature.
Regards,
Henri

Hi Kristof, I really like the composition. The placement of the church is justawesome.
But I'm not too sure about the sharpening though. It's a little too much I think.
But hei, great shot mate!

Great contrast between this little church and big mountain.Intersting picture.Regards.Alin.

Kristof, just because the sky got a bit washed out, it doesn't mean the picture is not amazing. Passionate scene. Keep posting!

hi Kristof!!

this is wonderful and beautiful!!

very big mountain! the contrast with small Church is very strong!
well done!
