Good Morning Everyone,

This morning I am posting a shot of a Coleus plant.
An article I read referred to these plants as clowns and I know just what they mean. The leaves have a happy, extrovert, jolly appearance that makes you smile involuntarily.

I have happy memeoies of the Coleus as my father could grow them exceptionally well so we always had them around the house.

This one was captured in a beautiful garden in Nice. Obviously, it is much warmer there and they can be treated as outdoor plants. I'm afaid we could only grow them indoors.

I have added a very interesting link on the growing of Coleus. If you would like to find out more, please click here.

Many thanks for your interest.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photoraph. :-)

Good morning Bev

I couldnt agree more, what lovely colours and very nicely saturated too. I love your Pp work here and the blown frame is very effective.

TFS kind regards Helen

Good morning Bev,
This is a bright lovely capture of coleus highlighting the symmetry and design of the plants. The fly on the foliage gives it an added 'oomph'. So surprise to learn that you could only grow them indoors. I use them as staples or anchor plants in my summer container pots along with hostas, cannas, and ornamental vines. The local nurseries here have abundant varieties and I do prefer the those with darker and stout foliage. This is a beauty and I am glad you posted it. My best regards...Danilo

This one brings back sweet memories to me as well Bev... My grandmother used to have them and apart from certain smells and a big jar of sweets, this plant also reminds me of her...
and of that particular time in life....
boy, how time flies...

Lovely colors and sharpness on the plant dear... and I like the way you framed it!

Hello Bev.
Very healthy looking leaves of this beautiful plant.
Lovely presented too.
Cheers, Jan

Coleus and a blowfly!!
They are such a colourful plant and always so different from each other.
"CLOWNS" - what a good name for them. Always colourful and happy looking - yes!
I've never had much luck growing them - ok for the first season but after that down they go :(
Nice shot Bev
