my entry for the FF theme.... Cold Abstract

I took this photo of Sunday River in Maine last February.

I did some different pp work.. But at the same time tried to keep the pp work minimal to achieved my abstract entry...
I cropped 1st crop had some snow on the upper left but then I figured that would distract.
I used a filter Posterize found it by just messing around in PS Elements 5 added a little blur so the rocks under the moving water where not so sharp and did not distract from the movement...

This so so cool! You are my downstairs neighbour in the gallery today!!
Love the idea!
Great action shot here, with just a touch of movement - the blur actually works for you.
A little bit more of a diagonal would have been even better

Very interesting post Tricia! So glad to see you here this morning, you almost got right close to me and Silke! I'm not sure I would have added the blur, it might would have worked sharp. That is just me though, LOL!
But I almost posted water too!....but changed mind at the last minute! I'll bet that Ice Water is cool alright! B-)

Hi Tricia,
Nice representation of the flowing river and creative contribution to the cold abstract theme. You managed to freeze the moment well and the poserizing and blurring PP work made it a 'painting'. I like its cold tones, well done! TFS.
Greetings,
Kristof

Hi Tricia,

Great POV the swirling water has given you a nice abstract shot. The colours have a subdued look about them which helps the effect well done.

Regards
Jon

Hi Tricia,

This is really a "cool" abstract! (giggle). I would have thought there would have been more ice in Feb. on the river. I really like all of the patterns that are formed on the rocks and water. Neat addition to the theme.

Hi Tricia,
Although I like the idea, I'm not sure about the execution of it. I have the impression it's not well focused creating a bit blurred image of the waves. Would a higher shutter speed improve this picture? Might be an idea for the next time. You add this picture to the "humorous" theme, which makes me smile. The image gives me a bit ambivalent feeling, I'm sorry. Hopefully you can handle this harsh critique ;-)

Hi Tricia

Great addition to the theme...I have to agree with Linda though..i might have worked better without the added blur, but that could just be me as well :)

Thanks for joining the theme
regards Tracey

I am a little confused now Tricia, you say your PP work included blur and Hans suggest better focus? Adding a blue tint may have improved the look but still a wrthy addition to the theme,
David
