[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We had packed our bags and left them in the luggage room, and enjoyed a last sunny day at the beach - with drinks and food within walking distance ;o)

The sun sets early this time of the year, alas... but the last sunset we saw on Djerba was the most beautiful one; everything just seemed to fall into place for this composition.

Tech talk

As usual with sunset pictures, I set the white balance to cloudy and used a -1/3 stop exposure compensation.

In PS I added an adjustment layer for curves only, to boost the contrast a bit.

Downsized and framed with a couple of home-cooked PS actions.

Signed with a font called "Running smobble", meant to look like Arabic (though obviously written in the wrong direction. I hope I didn't write anything legible in Arabic ;o)

Hi Frank,
The feeling of depth and the pull of the perspective that the wide angle gives to the picture, accentuated by the cloud pattern and your placement of the sun, boats and other elements, is astounding.
Nice warm colors, good pp work here, and overall DoF add to the overall quality of this sunset.
Very nicely seen, composed and presented.
TFS,
Wilt

Hi Frank, I madenote of this one before heading to bed on the 6th. The horizon is very deceptive, it looks curved and yet it is dead straight. Excellent PP work to retain the detail in the clouds and the water and yet toe down the brightness of the sun,
David

Hallo Frank.
Classic beauty. Maybe the boat a bit more 'downunder'?

Bonsoir Frank,
Or brossé et doux ivoire!
Merci pour la note!
Bravo! Annie

i like the warm colors Frank, i still remember back when i was still using warming filters for this kind of scene. which reminds me during this time of the year we get more of this cloud formation.

Hi Frank
I'm quite slack at visiting at the moment - been a bit busy and had many things to do.
I love the sky here - what pretty swirling clouds they are. Super colours too.
The silhouettes look good too. Very good PP work.
Well done
Janice
