1 of the glaciers on the summit of Kibo, the highest peak on Kilimanjaro. This was taken just after sunrise, when we were about 20 minutes from the summit.

Our summit night started at Barafu, the high camp at 15,300 ft. The climb was 4000 ft., to 19,340, and about 4 miles. We started at 11:30pm and summitted at 7:15am. Sunrise from the ridge below the summit was jaw-dropping.

Hi David,
I see we both uploaded a photo with some snow/ice in it. But yours is much more colorful and impressive. It looks like the glacier on the Kilimanjaro is still in good shape. Or is there arlready enough evidence of global warming.
I love how the light has illuminated the glacier and gave it a nice warm tone. The clouds certainly give the feeling of extreem height.
TFS,
Niek

Hi, David!
The colors are great, and the clouds really show that this is a high mountain. I look forward to number two of those glaciers. I have made a little scale to show how good I think it is (1-10):
Colors: 9 (Maybe too much light on some parts of the glacier)
Composition: 10
Sharpness: 10
Total: 29

Best regards from Bergen!

Hi David,
Breathtaking POV at this paradise of Africa. The morning lights are awsome as the sun is rising. Beautiful composition with the glacier, the sky, clouds and the brown field. Another great part of your series, congratulations, perfect! Keep it up! TFS.
Best regards,
Kristof

Very impressive - considering the cold and the hassle of keeping all of the vital bits warm.. Nice 'warm' saturated colour and great light..
Just watch the horizon tilt...
Cheers
David

Excellent light and colors of sky and ice and contrast to the right mountain. Very good composition. Regards Csabi

Congratulations on your summit David. Very magical image with the diagonal layers all with different textures. The morning light is special too. Very well seen. TFS. Karin
