TL, after some break, little start now.
Yes, loss of mother can't be filled, and I'm getting back in life slowly.
I know, officially Fall season started, but here we still have few days like summer.
My butterfly bush is still blooming, so as some other flowers.
Taken today, with my Macro lens, hand held shot.
This butterfly (Painted Lady) was sitting on my Lavender bush. Got a bit surprised, and these flowers do not have any nector, and still few of these butterflies were wandering on them.
With CS3 little curve adjustment, and USM (2.0), resized for TL.
Thank you,

Belle photo, mais manque de définition.
Je sais bien que ce n'est pas toujours facile.
Bravo quand même.

There is definitely an issue with the shutter speed. At F10 there is no reason not to have the butterfly fully in focus. However, at 1/40, with a 105 macro lens, hand held, there is no way you are going to nail it with no movement from your part or the butterfly’s part. You used iso 100 why? At 400 you would have been able to bump up your shutter speed and have a perfectly sharp pic.
PS: Sorry to hear about your mom.

Hello Vandana,

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I like this picture because the butterfly seems ready to fly and you must to do the same: to fly again through the life. It's the life's law. I sincerely hope for you that day ever dawn clear and the sun is shining again in his life.

Your brazilian TL friend,

(*) I did a WS and hope you don't mind.

My deep sympathy my friend. Gorgeous shot.

Hi, Vandana!

Hi Vandana

That good to be of turn
and a beautiful post you have here!
I adore the opening of your wings and of this beautiful one colored
very well detailed. The definition no this very well
but now in the return you had caught the way again!

Hi Vandana,
A great restart !! Superb colors and sharpness.
The only critique is in the left down corner in which the branch is white / OE .... could have been cloned from the green part. ;-) But the butterfly and dof is great.

A shallow DoF is both a plus and a minus, Vandana. The "heart" of the butterfly - its body - is a little oof, so is the flower. But it's not only the shallow dof, I think the low speed was a bigger problem here.
Last thing: I'd crop out the flower bit on the right, setting the butterfly closer to the right edge and -maybe- making it an even more dynamic compo, though it's surely not bad at all...
TFS and glad you're dropping in again...

Not the best picture I've seen from you Vandana, it's out of focus and blurry. I've See many better butterfly pictures here on TL. Sorry to say so I'm sure you can do much better.

N.B. Why the bolt text of your note? Are you afraid the TL public is shortsighted?

Hi Vandana

Sorry to hear of your loss. Time is a good healer, & the pain will pass after a year or so. I'm sure your mother would be the first to nag you to stop feeling sorry for yourself, & start enjoying life again. It's too short to waste a single day.

Hello Vandana,
Beautiful composition and details!
Gorgeous colors!
My deep sympathy my friend,

Anyone who gave this full points should be thoroughly ashamed. The best critique here came from Leica.

Hi Vandana, This is a beautifull composition full of the colors of butterfly. The placement of the model is perfect. I like this picture.

Amazing colors that butterfly have! God POV and good frame...

Happy New year!

Very beautiful and high class butterfly photography. Beautiful fur and colours.

Hi Vandana,

I'm sorry about your lost. It's never easy to lose someone dear.

But as for the picture, I'm at the moment laughing my heart out.

So far 57 points for a loosy picture...

Incredible critique, that really show, the true spirit of TL.

Did most have done their critiques, watching TV. Do we all need GLASSES????

Why not try honesty for a change.

Namastay Vandana ji,

I am sorry to hear about your mother.
Please accept my condolences!

It has been one and half years since you posted this picture, but today it took my attention and here I am giving my critique.

Well, I am on TL since less than a year now. Visited your gallery, you did wonderful work but visit it in detail in more free time.

Just saw this work, and I was astonished to see the huge number of critiques you received for this picture though this picture doesn't speak those standards and quality work you tried to achieve in most of your contributions to TL.

The butterfly is almost out of focus and I don't know where is exactly the focal point in the picture. The bokeh is nice but I think it was not the subject you meant to share in this shot :)

Hope you don't mind for my openness and fair critique. I usually try to write what I feel and thick for the work.

Kind regards,
