Dear friends,
hope you had a great weekend.

I am still hoping to get enough motivation and will to go out and get the remainder of the shots needed to complete my Bridges across the Thames collection - there are about 6 or so to go. I have been quite occupied with other commitments lately .. and I have to just get back to it at some point. So far I have close to 30 of them already - though only some of them are posted on TL at the moment.

Meanwhile I share this evening, one of many shots I have from London - Please pardon the typo, I actually shot this last year i.e. 2007 (NOT 2008 - I noticed this mistake only after I posted it and decided to just leave it).
Captured just a few mins before I shot this one.

This is along Jermyn Street near the Piccadilly area in London.
Shot just as the blue hour was comming to an end, I think I had been drawn to the texture/shapes on the building face and the way the light brought out shadows amongst them.

Thanks again for looking :-)

Hi Daniel,
Another nice night shot, good detail on all the light and architecture.
Very nicely composed and presented.
Too bad about the ghost, but it's not so bad. ;0)
TFS,
Wilt

Hi Daniël,

City streets can look a bit "tired" in the daytime, but shooting them at night with all the different kinds of lighting brings out the beauty of the place much better.

A lovely night shot. Strange to see the upperbodies of the persons in motion and the legs much more recognisable.

TFS
Els

A warm and attractive city street, great exposure and light balance as usual Daniel.. I'm not sure if it that pole with a bicycle sign on it was leaning left or it is the lens distortion can't tell since the walls of the buildings are straight.. thanks

aK

Olá Daniel,

very interesting architecture. Great night shot, it´s so sharp :)
The lights are amazing, congrats.

best regards.
Marco

Hi Daniel,
Beautfiful Nocturne picture , excellent composition,
Very well taken picture with beautiful light and sharpness, great colors and presentation,
very well done.
All my compliments
Michel

This image brings back memories for me, Daniel - for my first business trip to London, way back when I was but a lad, I stayed in a hotel in Jermyn Street and wandered drunk along here more than once. Happy Days ;-)

The low POV makes this for me and the composition is excellent - I particularly like the placement of the cycle-lane sign at the top left of the shot. I think that's a very professional touch and a good lesson in composition. The blurred walkers are a cool effect, but maybe too small/blurred to have the dramatic impact that they might otherwise have had?

(i really enjoyed your bridges collection!)
the pov and the colors on this one really give a cool mood to the composition... kinda like the feeling you just stepped out of the apartment, and just started to head out for an evening of bar hopping... hehe! if i'd nit-pick, i'd say i really find the 'ghosts' a bit distracting... cheers!
patrick

great point of view, good colors and excellent details, the shutter speed is perfect for the blur of the people walking, nice post,

scott

Hi Daniel,
A very nice picture with very good color. My only problem is that it does not feel like it is night! There is too much light here IMO.
Sunil

Very nice again Daniel - yep, you caught the tail end of the blue hour! Nicely composed- good lighting and the exposure's just right to get the couple walking up the street..
Nice..
David

Hi Daniel,

Maybe the big sign in the FG is a bit too eyecatching but I love the lights and the "ghosts"

I would kill to know your settings here Daniel!! The clarity is incredible..just about the time I think you've done as good as it gets..you blow me away with another one! The purple in this hits me hard! A great complimentary color to the beige walls of the building! The blurred people is just amazing...how in the world??? Wonderful work!
B-)
Linda

Hi Daniel...I love the sharpness and the color saturation in this and your other shots...great work.

Roger

Hi Daniel,

A great capture using low light. A cyclist wearing blue in the shot would have made big difference as u spotted the prominent sign in the foreground.

Hi daniel. It has been a while and I missed your beautiful new collection in your gallery. Amazing work as always with fine sharpness and glow with colorful ambiance. Well metered shot in very good perspective. Well done and keep shooting and sharing. Best regards. Jusni

I am always amazed and impressed by your shots, Daniel. This particular one, has the perfect "catch" to pull it out of the ordinary, I am referring to the ghostly appearances of the two, and I also to the dark background lit by the street lamp who passes as a false moon...A Tim Burton movie's mood, if you're not offended by the comparison.
Best regards and compliments,
Diana.

Hi Daniel
Love your night shots, you are mastering the art with colours,
sharpness and perfect exposure, in the past most night shots
were presented in b&w. What I love also is the movement that
is present in the presentation. Very nice job.

Paul

Hi Daniel,

Hi Daniel, Your attention to detail and use of tripod certainly pays dividends. This has the ambiance of being there with you. Good colours and DOF. TFS. Murray.

Hello Daniel.
As usuall a perfect lighted evening picture.
Imo the pole in fronmt is destracting, it would have been much better if it was straight vertical.
The feets on the street, are nice but without body, in this picture.
Hope you dont mind too much.
Regards from Jan

Bonjour Daniel
Une composition nocturne soignée,l'image est nette et bien exposée et le rendu de white balance agréable.
Bonne soirée

The use of those strange " false " colours took my hand ...
Like the mood.
Like the POV : on one knee or both on the pavement ? ;-)

The only " but " I have is that walking couple.
Just because there is only one and rather small
they are more distracting than saying
" a city in action "
Hope you understand my " English " and my reasoning
