Amazing picture. Amazing perspective. Nice clouds. Very nice colors. Great effect.
Had a job change? From airline pilot to astranaut? :-)
Great view well captured with the fisheye lens. The colours of the sky and space are stunning. Really looks like flying on the ede.

Wow! This is pretty unique, don't remember seeing anything quite like this on TL - possibly the highest altitude image ever on the site! The fisheye and the pp work make us feel like we're on the bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise - excellent shot and pp work here, David.

Hi David, Some nice creative photographic tricary! A beautiful effect and the pp done sensitively.
Many shots that are catching my eye lately are taken through short lenses...I feel an investment coming on!

Hello David !
I thought we had an astronaut as a TL member (^_^). Smart use of your fish-eye here . Lovely idea and post-processing work. Brilliantly done. The illusion is perfect.

Great optical trickery David.
I did belive this was from orbit :)
Nice open shot, just enough cloud cover to keep it interesting.
Really well done here.
I really believed it was from space though I had a strange feeling about the coast line: doesn't look like any continent. Not the slightes idea did I have what continent it was! You're a great photo-cheater :)

WOW! This is a very cool shot. I love the effects and PP work you used. It really looks like a shot from space. Very nice work.
Very apart looking piture.Well done.
I do have many photo's before the landing to colombo airport.
Pity I cant zoom in, like on Google Earth. haha
I've been in Hikkaduwa (and toured at the rest of Sri- Lanka)Hikkaduwa is just North of Galle, an old Dutch 'resort'.
Lovely place it is.
Nice effect! You have the opportunity, so why not! A good base capture with the fisheye, and excellent PP effects.
Can't say I'd like to be in orbit, I don't handle nausea well and it's something astronauts have to put up with constantly. :(
Ahh!! This is just the BEST David! Really excellent pp work, you had me fooled! You get an award for this one! Excellent curve, love how you got the misty look to it! Like atmosphere! Nice job!

It looks like taken from the orbit.

Well done, this could be taken from the space station, you've even captured the Ozone layer (send a bit down this way please, we have a huge hole in ours)...;)

after seeing your creative work here, than now i understand the function of fish-eye lens really especially at high altitude.
Great creative work.

Splendid Image of our earth from 40,000 feet, amazing colors and details and very interesting effect with the fish eye lens.
Thanks for the note, and I hope your are able to make your trip, someday.
Congratulations, very nicely done.

This is a real fun photo. I think that you had a few us fooled looking at the photo but not reading the note. The fish eye effect is great and your PP work made it look very real.
P.S. Thank ... to the auto pilot.

On my gosh, I had to do a double take on this one! It's really an interesting, eye fooling shot of the earth. You need to see if they have a pilot job on that voyager... I applied as a flight attendant!! LOL
... back to the photo... very creative post processing and use of the fisheye lens.
Cool one David! Lisa

Hi David, Very well created and without the note, we'd think it was orbital! Good clarity and colours. You are well placed for such photographs, very interesting to see through your lens. TFS. Murray.

A great photo, as someon ealready mentioned, a rather unique view. The combination of the fisheye lense and the PP to make the sky dark makes this great. Also so nice to see an area of Sri Lanka that I am originally from. Those are the beaches that I used to play on as a kid that you see down there!

This sure looks "real" to me David.
Of course it is real, but I mean real as in "orbit real".
Next time when I'm on a plane I wanna try this too!

Thatīs funny , thatīs interesting!
But I wouldnīt save $ 100.000 for traveling into orbit! There are too many other interesting and beautiful things on the land, without needing to fly!
Cool effect you got here. Looks really realistic. Fisheye lens have a really wide field of view and I don't see any structure from inside you plane, unless you opened the window to shoot. Did you crop the final image?
Great shot, I love it.
