Hello everyone,
on our wander around Saffron Walden, we came across a series of gardens,of which this was one.

My POV was made better because hidden behind some shrubs, there was a spiral staircase, about 8 feet high,at the top of which there was a small platform where anyone could stand.I have never seen this feature before;but it would certainly be welcome wherever there are formal gardens, to enable a good view of the planting.

The shot is not quite symmetrical due to the little building in the corner, which had a seat inside it.

Although it was quite a bright morning, the clouds were not for going away! Hence the rather dull sky.

I cropped out some of the sky, sharpened, and added a little contrast, then resized for posting.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean
wonderful photo of an English garden.
good POV to capture the beautiful design.
perfect clarity of details and good sharpness of colors.

Beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jean.

We're only a few miles down the road but in the 9 years down here, this is one place I've missed out on so far! Nice composition using the symmetry. Excellent exposure and sharpness. Pity the lighting was a bit dull / hazy but a cracking good shot. Regards, Paul.

Jean hi:
Beautiful English garden. You have composed and presented the image very well, with stunning colors and sharpness. As your excellent note suggest the stairway provided a wonderful POV. The little building is not a bother to me, in fact I find it interesting.
Congratulations, very well done.

How good to be able to climb the stairs and look down on such a neat and tidy garden. How wonderfully set out it is, and you show it well.

Hi Jean
A lovely composition for a very beautiful place, the POV is excellent and reveals the layout very well

Another lovely shot of a garden. The assymmetry isn't disturbing, I kind of like the discrepancy between greeery on the left and structure on the right, you might also include the additional bed on the left with the path on the right. They mirror one another somehow.

Good POV,
Kind regards,

Nicely composed Jean, the non symmetry works well. Perhaps a lower POV to remove the sky would have worked? Good colour and lovely detail. TFS,

These trimmed and patterned gardens are fascinating and amazing. How fortunate to find an elevated POV for this shot. I like the garden lushness and natural colors. Well done:)

Hi Jean
This is a wondreful shot,
Beautiful subject,nice colors and details
Great job

Hi Jean. This is a very formal garden and a delight to see it on Trekearth. The composition is symmetrical and looks very good, similar to some at the French Gardens outside Paris. TFS. Murray.
