I shall dedicate this post to the victims of Sichuan earthquake of 2.38pm, 12May2008 which shook China by Richter scale 7.9 and devastated lives of 32,000 at latest count. Despite the disaster, I find it heartening to see the country's Chinese Premier on the frontline and the President showing care. Even more heartening to see that across the Straits in Taiwan, president-elect, his wife and a few mayors together with artists participating in TV telethon to take calls from donors amounting to more than NT$200million as of now.

This is a photo of diving site at Kapalai island.

Love and care...it is a
What a Wonderful world lyrics - Louis Armstrong.

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

(instrumental break)

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin...*spoken*(I ....love....you).

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than Ill never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world.

Hi Bill,

I am also very sad about this quake and I posted a photo from Sichuan in TE. I was in the area now hit by this tragedy in September 2006. I liked Chengdu and its surroundings very much and the people there were very nice, so I feel sympathy for them suffering so much. In Birma they suffer maybe even more and it is difficult to help them.
Splendid photo, fantastic clear water.
Thanks for the note and the song.

Hello Bill. Now you have pulled in another stunner. The clear water with the sharpness of the sea bed is brilliantly captured here. The horizon with puffy cloud is just beautiful. Simple high angle capture cutting down the sky works well here. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Hi Bill
A great dedication with a great song. Those natural disasters are something unavoidable but it's very good to see that the rest of the world are rushing to assist. When I was a kid in the 50's my town was totally leveled by an earthquake and I was lucky to survive. I still remember the feeling of losing the ground under your feet.

No need for critique; beautiful photo and a beautiful sentiment only partially a match to the overwhelming sadness of the disaster it is dedicated to.
Nice job.

Hello Bill,
Very nice dedication.
Beautiful pov and composition.
Lovely colors and light. TFS

Hi Bill,
Beautiful shot!! I wish I was there as it is raining in New Jersey! Excellent job of capturing the ripples in the water and the contrast in the sky. Nice work!

Hi Bill,

a touching tribute for the quake victims in Sichuan. while we enjoy & share the beauty of our backyard even though thru photos, forget not the sufferings of the victims & their famuily.

Thanks, Bill.

Hi Bill,

The water is crystal clear. You could even see some details of the coral under the water. Great colours and I always love the clouds that you get in your photos.
