[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello everyone, today one of my favourite interests...bird watching.
A local man-made lake that we often walk around for our daily exercise is home to lots of water birds.
This Great Crested Grebe sits quite happily on her nest, only a few feet away from the footpath that is walked very regularly by people every day.

The nest looks very soggy but she continues to sit, guarded by her mate who keeps fairly close.

The nest,[according to my reference book] is a simple heap of water plants built up from the bottom of shallows or else supported by or tethered to a fallen branch or submerged stems

Let's hope that the eggs will hatch so that I may have further shots of the family in the future.

Thanks for your visit.

Hi Jean,
How it is interesting to see this nest! First time for me!
Very good composition with natural colors and nice foreground. We can believe that this bird wanted to preserve its intimacy with a curtain of bulrush. Very well done! Annie

Hello Jean
Good shot of that Grebe sitting on her nest. Very natural colors and nice environment. Was it possible for you to opt for a lower point of view?
Nicely done
Serge
