I had to dip into my archives for this one. In fact, I had trouble deciding between several suitable images for the Repetition Theme (^0^)

The fun part was that I captured myself in the reflection here too.
My challenge to you is to identify the subject as precisely as possible: Exactly WHAT is it?
April 18th Update: The answer is right here in the second picture from the top. Thanks for letting me have fun with the idea.

Tech: Captured with my now-extinct Coolpix 5700; cropped a little from top and right-hand side, resized, sharpened, added frame and signature

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful time shooting and exploring

Hi Silke,

Strong and abstract posting for todays (or actually tomorrows) theme. Making a guess: i'd say the chome front of a truck??? But i could be way off.

Best regards,

Edwin

I like the repetition pattern and POV here Silke very much,
and also even more so, the reflections off f each piece of this grill. Which is what it looks like to me?
A grill from a Mack Truck?

Great theme entry!
- Vincent

First thought was the grill of a very tall car. Anyway, I'm impressed by the way you kept the lens from distorting your image. Adding your reflection is a nice touch. Not a clue, will be waiting for the answer to the mystery. Your selection transportation is a clue, but not working for me.

Dan

Hi Silke,

Great image. I guess it is the chrome radiator panel of a truck, maybe a vintage fire truck? Also could it be a self-portrait?

Any event, a great image and a great contribution to the theme.

Well done and TFS,

John

excellent shot, I suppose if we don't get the ID, we could all get a grilling!! very sharp and well focused. TFS

hi silke, neat shot, due to the damage on it and the fact that i am in the automotive industry i am going to say this is a front grill for either an old truck, car or maybe a rig?????
nice shot,
tfs,
scott

Looks like the center grill of an old Studebaker or something like it.

Great composition Silke.

Thanks
Gil

I see you!! Nice contribution Silke! LOVE that chrome, on anything! Really nice clarity here too! I say it is the GRILL to an old firetruck..DID I WIN??? Possibly an old Ford firetruck 1949!
B-)
Linda

Hello Silke,
Great idea,i can see you a bit in a chrome grill.
Is it a car?never seen it before..
Anyway this is very nice capture, great done for the theme.

Regards,
Anan

Thanks for your nice critique on "MEMEX"

Can't really identify the make and model year, but I think I know what it is! Great shot!
By the way: just logged on a while ago and seen the Birthday card by David, so: HAPPY BIRTHDAY - hope I am not too late!
Cheers

One stone two birds ;) you have captured the repeating details of this, I guess, front grill of a truck as well as a self portrait at the same time, nice contribution Silke..

Hi Silke,
The repetition theme is good for a birthday! I like to believe that the years pass in your life with as much brightness and glare that there is on this splendid capture! Very good details and fine reflection of the lady of a lens!
Happy birthday dear friend!

I was sure it's an old Chrome but on with model.... No chance... I was alway's more axed on electronic technologic and fiction then cars... But it's not a reason... Be sure y eyes catch the chrome! Old mechanics have often very great details opportunitys!

I spot yourself too... A touch of grean... That was easy!
Nice presentation!

Hi Ladies-in-Red,

This seems to me like the front of a classic car, but seeing the hight it must be a truck. The chrome is defenitely older, a radiator?
I would not know for sure, but that is the impresssion it gives me. Lovely repetition (also from those ladies).

The closest I can come to identification, Silke is that it is the grill of a car. An older model car, but that is all I would know. I do see you there with your red shirt and watch. Great choice of framing and definitely perfect for the theme. Happy Birthday.
Warm Regards
Wanda

A car grille. Maybe a Packard????
Excellent entry for the theme.

Hello Silke,

What a great addition! I think it is probably the radiator grill from a car!
It is sharp and detailed and I particularly like your presentation!

I have just seen Linda's post so I now know that it is your birthday. I know you shouldn't ask a lady her age so, many happy returns, my friend! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Silke,
Taking your challeng I believe this photo is from the chromium plating grill of a car of the fourties or fyfties. But if I'm wrong, this continuos to be a great chromium platings capture with an amazing shine... with you inside.

Very nice idea of repetition, Lady Silke. I only can guess that it was a grill of something... a truck maybe. I like the details in the reflection which also reflecting you. It is a great shot, as you always did.

Dear Silke,
There is a rumour about a Birthday...
I have heard 45 years mentioned...
CONGRATS!!
Even if I'm a day late and based on rumours...
By the way, a pleasant self portrait!
Greetings,

Excellent Creation.

Hi Lotl,
Almost forgot to look at your repetition posting, sorry. Th eshining front of a classic car is a nice object for the theme (what car? No clue! :-) If it was an aircraft I would have known) Anyway a fine sharp image and it fits perfect to the theme!
Hans

Has to be the grille of that 'Olds' :). Repetitions on repetitions Silke and well captured. Lovely framing and the subject most suitable for the theme. Oh bother, it wasnt the 'Olds'. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Four Repetitions’

Hi Silke,

beautiful image. looks like the front end of some really retro car or something.

i like how you composed it so it's hard to tell what it is, but yet maintain the aesthetics of the lines and the colours.

beautiful.

Hi Silke,
Very good tight cropping to just focus on the repeating patterns. Your reflections also added dimension to the compo. Well captured and composed with very good sharpness. Well done! tfs

Hello Silke

Beautiful close of the chrome of this old car.
I think to be a car of firemen. Right!
I like the repetition and still more of the presented car
in the other place.
Congratulations for the look and inclusion to the theme.
Greetings!
