Sitting in a cable car over the Rhine River and crossing the North South Autobahn .
I still dont know how I managed to take this photo, since i was shaking all the time, due to a fear of hights..
Anyway..I got out alive ..

This day was one of the TL meet of the Lowlands last september.
In my cabin was my Bro in Law Jose and Vandana2923
(both VERY relaxed)
There was a second cable car in front of us, With Vassilis..in TL *Vsinopoulos* and his lovely wife
Tanya, and Hans * Greenbaron*

Dear Sir John,

Yes, I have travelled on this autobahn and the Köln Zoo is near the bank of the River Rhine. It reminded me my stay in Germany during. A beautiful shot of the running flow of traffice and a wonderful scenary. Well done my friend.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Hello John,
Very nice composition and pov, good colors and lovely light, excellent sharpness and very good depth of field.

Love the pov here going the distance. Heights are kind of scary so just take a deep breathe and click the camera several times get down and breathe like there is no tomorrow ;) You did great! I love this view!! TFS

Hi John

Good lead in lines, from the freeway bridge, or should that be autobahn? Excellent diminishing linear perspective. I like the hooked curve, at the vanishing point, & high pov. Tfs!

Hi John,

A lovely view . .
The road guides our view to see the far end of the bridge . .
You did great managing stability of shooting this image . .
Well composed . .

Tfs,

Hello Johnny,
AHA...I remember this shot you were trying to take...
and also remember who scared you were in that cable car.
Beautiful perspective (irrespective of your fear of hight).
I see the Autobahn going down till end of photo.
Nicely framed and presented.
Thanks for bringing back good memories :-)

Hoi Johnny

Hi John,
It's a beautiful catch and knowing under which condition it was taken it's an EXCELLENT catch :))) Great timing for this great composition and nice perspective. Well done my friend.

Hi John,

Hoi John,
Heb wel een grijns op mijn gezicht bij het lezen van Vandana's commentaar: "...and also remember who scared you were in that cable car." Hahaha heb ik niet geweten :-)
Now the picture itself: a fine perspective view, both lead ins (your specialty) take my eye from bottom to top excellent done. One remark; the horizon appears not to be level. Overall a fine posting John. Good memories.
Hans

hello john!
wonderful view and great perspective, i like it.

Hi John,
Oh my you ARE a brave soul! I don't think I could of done this, we have a tram near our new house on JayPeak mountain, I don't think you'll be seeing any photos of it from me! Neat shot you got though! TFS

Hoi John,
Very beautiful high perspective,
Excellent,colors, composition and details.
Well done my friend.TFS.

Hi John,

Very intresting composition and POV, excellent details you captured and natural colors. I remember, exact one year ago, after a day spent in Zoo Koeln with my son (next to the cable car station), he wanted "flying" with the gondola over the Rhein and we visited another bank too, in that beautiful park with a mini-train in which, of course we had a ride. :-)
So you have fear of heights, in this case we cannot take photos from the Campanille in Piazza San Marco. :-))

Have a nice evening,
Sorina

Hi John
Photography can sometimes be an extreme sport. The perspective here is very nice and I was wondering how you managed to shoot this till I read your note. You had the best vantage point. The image is sharp and the depth of field is perfect.
Nicely done John
Serge

You overcome a lot in order to shoot a great picture, John. I addressed the theme of "Fear of Flying" (or heights) in one of my paintings. I would link you to it, but the image might not be apropriate for all. Since you know my site, check it out under the tab 'Early Works'.
Cheers
Otto

Hi John,
I was wondering how you took this photo! Cable car! I'm dizzy just looking at the photo, much less how I would feel had I been there! LOL. It's a nice shot of the autobahn. My eyes want to follow the road throughout your photo. Nice perspective of the road, river, and the flags add interest too.

Now, how are you going to shoot the Golden Gate Bridge from above in California?? :D

Lisa

This is some fine POV here.
Great view onto the autobahn.
I like the crop where the bridge covers all bottom part of the image from one corner to the other.

At first I thought it was taken from an airplane's window while preparing to land at a nearby airport ;-)

TFS
Tom

Nou John,

Jouw POV is wel even een stukje hoger en jouw lead in is oneindig .... maar voor de rest precies hetzelfde idee.
Brr, ik heb hoogtevrees, maar het uitzicht is het wel waard.
Heerlijke opname.

Prettig weekend,

Hello frere, this is very nice and what a chance there is a cable cabin over the autobahn :) And Koln, the city where was held the Koln Concert of Keith Jarrett.
This is very well done, what a great pov, so sharp, great mood, nice light even if it was a cloudy day.
I didn't know you are afraid of heights :)
No problem with your friends beside you!

Great work! Cheers :)

hi JT

Afraid of height, with you big body size? You should try more outdoor stunts!

Very good composition of what we will see if we visit Koln and take cable car. Anyway I get to see it here for free. No need to fly there.

The lead in lines do indeed make this very effective. I love all the flags and their colours marching off into the distance. A wonderful skyline makes it a great composition, indeed. It is a wonderful view and it must have been thrilling to be in the cable car to capture it. I am pleased your photography instincts won over your fear of heights, so we could enjoy this marvelous view too. Very well done.

Hi John, a very good work with this perspective on the road, it looks majestic with this great depth and the the colorful cars on the grey road.
Have a nice night.
Evangelos

I'm a bit afraid of heights too John! So keeping a camera in hand distracts the fear enough! It was the only way I was able to ride in that helicopter last spring! Very nice shot, love the cars on the bridge! Much more interesting that just the river!
B-)
Linda

Hi John,

Lovely shot from an excellent high POV, and special for me, bringing memories of a great time with T.L. friends.

Mooi. TFS

Photography enthusiasm was the reason how you managed to fight the fear of heights, sir.
Lovely perspective, diminishing lines of this renown high speed autobahn. Very nice shot.
