Happy New Year folks, I had a stunning New Years Day in Wellington, the weather was out of this world, hot, still, clear and people everywhere. I took heaps of photos and will post some more over next few days, let me know what you think ;-)

This photo is the natural untouched photo from the camera, the lighting was so good the colours are vibrant enough

Awesome POV Steven. Bright and colourful compo. I like the detail of the rope and boat too. TFS.

Hi Steven

Happy new year! Yep this is a nice shot, good work with the rope at lower-left as your lead-in. Possibly you could have cropped a little off the top to bring the horizon more into Rule of Thirds territory (and it could also be made a little more level) - but those are just little details. The light, mood, and saturation of this shot are excellent.

"You can't beat a good day in Wellington,"

What a beautiful still day this looks - no wind for windy Wellington?
It's a tad tilted to the left, and I think I'd have cropped of half way between the top and the 80 ton sign, but still a nicely captured image.

Janice

Happy new year Steven,
This is a beauty, nice timing with the kayakers, pin sharp in the foreground. Quite 3D really, well done.
Dad.
