When Helen first mentioned this weeks theme I had to think long and hard. I have favourite sunsets from Western Australia, Bunyip Sunset and Geographe Bay Sunset and Tasmania, Tasmanian Sunsets II.

My Golden Rays series was challenging and reasonably well accepted.

I enjoy capturing the tranquillity of the Tamar, such as this and the fog which occurs on this stretch of water. Reflections have always been a passion and the estuary provides some ideal conditions.

I finally opted for my first image on TL originally seen here.

PP Work...cloned out the partial bench, removed some debris, added a larger border than I normally use and resized.

People laugh because I'm different, I laugh because they're all the same.

The whole scenery is very soft, the latern is not disturbing at all but giving a nice break of reality in the picture...
Good work Dave.

Hi David
You picked the right one for me, the tweeks you have done have I think improved the overall picture, especially the willow tree, well I went from one to the other, it seemed better to me.
All the best

Hi Dave,
I can see why this is your favourite shot. The Willow is beautifully captured, with the light mist. Well done indeed.

Hi David,
The luminosity is particularly interesting here. The mixed of the falling lines from the tree and the road give another point of interest while the shadows and light area guide our eyes. I also love you frame that does it job of putting the photography in evidence. Well done, TFS !
Ivan

Very beautiful! I really enjoy that quote at the end of the note. Oh look I just rhymed. Nice trees and dreamy effect. Well done!

hello David
beautiful shot
I love your foggy shots
and your other work is great too
this one has excellent colours
and great composition with the beautiful trees
greetings
David

Good morning David

Well what a coincidence you and I had the same idea. I was indeed going to add my first post to the theme last night as my favourite as its what started me on TL. However I looked at it and decided I am so unhappy with the quality that its really not my favourite. Funny how much we learn on here without realising.

This shot of yours is just beautiful, so much mood and the foggy areas mixed with the light and shaded areas are so interesting too look at. Indeed there is much to see in this lovely image and I can fully understand why you would choose it as a favourite.

TFS and for joining in the fun

Kind regards Smurfie

Hi David! What a lovely willow? tree. I love the foggy mood in the morning and this is a nice example. Very good POV and perspective with lovely details and exposure.
Cheers!
Freddie :)

PS: I like your cute profile picture. The dimple is to die for! :)

Really, It must done. Congratulation, Greeting from Turkey.

The sad mood in this shot is enhanched by the weeping willow, great colors and comp, I understand why you picked this one allthough your other shots are great as well. I like it , good contribution to the theme David

Happy 2008 to you David!

This is really great view, and very refreshing to look at. The mist adds to the softness, plus the soft needles of leaves falling down, giving a relaxed look. Very good composition and light exposure, with the curved road in good position. Well done. TFS

Nice choice for your favorite. Lighting is memorable and worthy of the honor. I perfer the light pole in the image. Matter of taste. It is what you saw and worthy of remaining.
Thanks for the kind words on my road trip images.
Happy New Year
Dan

If this photo was mine it would also have been a favourite! If I may be brazen enough to comment - and seeing that you did some more PP work on this one - I would have cloned out a little of the top of the willow tree to make the top part not seem "amputated" but that is just me being very picky:-)I was brave enough to add a workshop to show you what I mean... Hope you will tolerate me as an amateur with some cheek!
Regards

Hi David, this one was really a winner and still is! Fantastic shot.
