Twin acorns... Well sort of....

Here is the story behind this photo. We have about 10 Oak trees that line one side of our yard. For 13 years only the back trees have produced acorns.. Not this year it seems every tree is dropping acorns like crazy. (I know there must be a scientific reason for this!) I'm hoping it keeps the hungry squirrels away from my tulip bulbs I just planted!

We where out all day yesterday getting the gardens ready for winter and on my way in I saw many acorns on our back deck but decided to snap a few shots of this pair!

PP crop... auto adjust darken highlights sharp small black frame.. no text!

Fall is coming quickly....

This is very special for the reason mentioned in your note - same is going on in Holland - not only are the acorns dropping like crazy and much much more and sooner then usal, but lots of them are misfigured, out of shape or double grown together. We already send a letter to the municipality to ask if they have an explanation. Someone is looking into it right now.
This is a wonderful picture, colours, light, textures - everything is right about this one.

Hello Tricia

I like these acorns, they remind me films that squirrels always carry them to his house.
Beautiful, I thought that had another name these acorns. Pine cone!
Great look taste of the color and details.
