Late May and another morning of fog, this image being taken at 945am.

Rather than more notes about the Tamar itself some fact gleaned about Tasmania, in the workshop the original image.

Launceston is located 70 km from Tasmania's coast along the Tamar river. Thus although further north than Hobart, Launceston can have colder nights in the winter. In particular, it's position surrounded by hills to the south has earnt it the nickname "foggy hollow" by residents of rival urban centres.

The island of Tasmania is Australia's smallest and most southerly state. With no land to its west before Africa, and nothing but Antarctica to its south, Tasmania can seem an isolated and forbidding place, lashed by cold winds and rain from the Southern Ocean. This was certainly the impression it gave many convicts who were transported from England to serve out their lives in the penal colonies established by the British in the nineteenth century.

PP Work...smart photo fix, digital camera noise removal (noise 50, blend 70), using the scratch removal tool deleted some floating debris, added border, resized and sharpened.

Perfect is the word it came to me when I saw your photo.

The composition with the moorings in front gives all the deepnest of the image.

Excellent composition David. The boats look amazing in this
fog. Reflections on the water are great.

this is a winner
what to say more...

Huhg for Sandie and a smack on the shoulder for you
Good weekend

Right now I am almost ready to settle for some fog here, the rain has been very welcome but the winds have been another story. I love the way the reflections are so hard to spot at first glance because they are so straight. Your pp work is as always sooooo darn good, TFS

It's a beautiful shot David! nice fog, I love the softness and the colors of the boats in the water. I see there is slight purple fringing on the edges. Corel has a One Step Purple Fringe Fix...that works sometimes. I will post a WS...B-)

Beautiful image David, a lovely stillness and calm.

Regards Mark :)

Hi David, or should I say the master of fog. :)

Another deliciously moody shot. Great composition, textures and gentle colours

Hello David,

I am finding difficult to find words to express the beauty of every day of Tamar.
I can only tell you that it is again done the great job.

I see you got caught bu the purple people eater, oups, the purple fringe monster too :-).
Man, that Linda sure has an eye for purple fringe. Maybe because she's beyond the fringe :-).
Excellent PP work to get to this result.
Can I frame it?
:) later

Hi David,

Great composition again, David! These images of yours are classic! Perfect placement - I know you found it that way, but it almost appears as if you orchestrated the set-up!

Hello David
splendide composition dans la brume et excellentes réflections

Hello David!

A pretty cool variation of a familiar theme. Lovely mood and symetry of lines . The winter is coming to an end down there . Do not be upset , foggy days will be over soon. BTW , Colors already started to change in our trees at home ! And we are still in August ! Temperature went down to 3 Degreees last week at night.

Hello David. This image is a dream. The colours used and the perspetive under fog is excellent. I see a few focal points and good light to creae some attractive reflections. The artistic relevance of this image is very effective and give us a beautiful view of the wter and boats. Thanks for sharing this image David.

Hello David,

I like foggy atmosphere.
All your these shots are so wonderful and peaceful to see.

Out of the many beautiful shots of yours I've chosen the these Foggy days because they are so rich in color nuances though dipped in the mist.

Hi David.
I couldn't help but comment on this also. Actually I think I like it better than VII. Just because there's a little more colour and the fact that the boats are held out from the blanked out b/ground, whereas in the other pic there is a small hint of the far bank of the river. Both favorites now! Again, very beautiful. Well done.
Best regards, Steve.
