Symphony in blue

For my dearest English language teacher!

What to write about this image. Took the picture on the same roundabout as the photocouleurs de France hopefully you can enjoy it. At least the summer has started here in the Netherlands. Flowers and sun makes me happy.....

I have no clue what kind of flowers it are, I believe I observe a cornflower, but the rest...no clue. Please help Janice!

My brother Arie
(Puzzleman), although not a TL member, follow our steps here on internet and informed me the blue flowers are the Platycodon grandiflorus or Chinese Bellflower or in Dutch 'Ballonbloem'. My brother knows a lot about flowers, he is a dedicated gardener. Thanks my brother for your information!

I'm curious how many grammar and spellings errors there are this time in my note. At least it keeps a Kiwi lady busy writing to me :-)

Shot in RAW, changes 16-bit channel for 8-bit. Adjusted saturation, copied origional, add zoom blur, pasted origional into blurred image after reducing the image to 1900x1900 pix. Resized to TL dimentions sharpenend and and resized for TL converted to JPEG.

Image details:
ISO: 200
Metering: matrix
Shutter: 1/30
Aperture: f/22
White Balance: Auto
Focal length: 28mm

Here a more detailed explanation how I made the frame:

1) make a copy of the picture you want to posted, or the same crop as in my case.
2)with the copy go to > filters > blur > zoom (I used 70% zoom) > enter
3) Now you have a copy which is zoomed and one of the origional with max pixels and dimesions.
4) add small white frame around the origional image > flatten > enter
5) down-size the origional 400 pix smaller e.g. in my case 1900x1900 pix to 1500x1500 pix.
6) paste the resized image into the blurred > copy > flatten(take care it is correctly centred!).
7) resize this combined image to max TL- dimensions (800x800 pix)
8) Sharpen image at last, upload and enjoy the critiques of the fellow TL-members :-)

Have fun!

Oh ... Just Oh WOW

This is really stunning. So many beautiful flowers and I adore the framing idea. Come on please give me an idea how you did the frame.

I am so pleased summer has started there for you and if these are the shots its allows you then may the sun shine for a good long time my friend.

TFS regards Helen.

P.S. I am still trying to sort out to see if I can meet up when your over here, will email you later or tomorrow.

P.S.S. Doh guess who didn't read the notes properly lol. It does day how you did the frame.. sorry about that

Hi Hans,

AWESOME frame you've got here! Looks very spectacular! Lovely fine and elegant flowers, great colours! Can't imagine finding them on a roundabout in Holland... Well done and thanks for sharing! I am still hoping the sun will pop out, as today is my day off... :-)
Greetings from Bianca.

Hey Hans - I too can see cornflower, plus daisy and calendula - and that's all I'm sorry. All I know is that this is a wonderful cottage-garden of flowers. I'd love a garden like that - plus a gardener to manage it for me...
Beautiful display of flowers - and that frame - I thought you might have been on the weed at first, but the more I look at it, the more I like it - with this image. Well done on yout PP work.
Good job, well done

Oh Hans, my friend,

I just love this cottage garden! So many wonderful colours! I can almost smell the fragrances from here!

I'm afraid I'm not happy with the frame though, Hans! I'm sorry but I find it distracting! Perhaps if it was narrower it would merge better. Still, love the main shot though!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Hans :o)
Wow ! It's wonderful ! Really ! Colours are so soft and well mixed, and the frame is EXCELLENT ! It's a very delicate shot, i love it, thanks my friend :o)
Greetings (Bonjour de Dieppe :o)

Hello Hans,
perfect summer synonym with great details and colours.
Fantastic framing. Makes me wish to jump right inside.
BIG smile. TFS Thomas

A fine tribute to your teacher! Wonderful framing! The blast out blur is so nice! Love the colors! Very nice Hans...your English is fine...BELIEVE ME, you speak it better than most Americans.....**sigh**....B-)

hello hans!
wonderful shot, beautiful colors and flowers, i like it.

Hoi Hans,

Hello Hans.
Splendid flower picture, excellent border frame.
Schitterend veld boeket.
Groeten, Jan

He Hans
Beautiful flowers. Pretty presentation.

Hi Hans,

Great idea to use such a frame. It definitely helps the composition, as otherwise it might have been a bit too "ordinary".

Flowers are always nice, but they need some help, e.g. a frame - as in this case - or shallow DOF, etc.

Hi Hans.
ik ben geen bloem liefhebber op fotos maar dit boeket kan ik toch zeer waarderen. Het is heel bijzonder en mooi gemaakt. Een prachtig kader er omheen en zelfs ik geniet.
Groet Frans

LOL!!!! and WOW!!!!
Love that frame. Really points to the center image.
Well done

Hi Hans
Symphony in blue, I can see some green in it as well. Brillian shot, great PP work, you will have 10 out off 10 point for that. TFS

great frame, nice colours

Hallo Hans,
Knap werkstuk!
TFS & prettige dag,

Hi Hans,

That is a great frame and a wonderful explanation!! Yes, that is wat TrekLens is about, learning from each other and that is a great note accompanying this shot. Thanks!!

Greetings, Dennis

Hello Hans,
A most beautiful "bouquet" of flowers . . . my eyes wander round and round the shot until each of the pretty blossoms has been appreciated. Thanks, too, for sharing the process for making the frame.
All the best,

Very good composition, nicely prepaired.
