Sunrise, Lake Caliraya, Laguna, PH

God's gift to start off the day, something to renew our strengths and give us vigor to face the challenges of the day ahead. This is my comfort zone.

I've taken countless shots of sunrises and sunsets. I thought I've seen them all, but nature has a way of surprising us. I just have to take another one...

The leaves... I know Im going to receive flak for them. Believe me, they are a small trade off for this POV. I don't want to clone them out as it will diminish the "realness" of the scene in front of me.

Sometimes the perfect way to show a beautiful scene is to include the imperfections in them...

Incredible colors! Sunrises are like fingerprints in their homogeny.

Beautiful light Allan! Great shot. I would have found a way to not include the branches of that tree, but it is still a beautiful shot.

absolutely stunning shot. Great contrast from the rich colours on the left to the darker tones on the right.
The leaves are a distraction though. But I understand that sometimes, no matter how far you try and move, you cant quite get the perfect POV when large bodies of water are in the way.

An absolutely amazing sky! Fantastic colours. Perfect exposure.
The leaves in top left do add some balance to the dark area in bottom right. I think it works well.

Beautiful picture. Yes, I fully agree with you, nature shows plenty varieties of their existance. You captured one of those very well. I like the reflection of colorful light and formation of clouds.

I agree with what you said in the note... you see one sunrise and you think, "wow! never again will I see something like this," and thena few months down the road your hit with a new beauty. I always see these great sunsets going down through my window... but lately I don't bother photographing them because of all the cranes obscuring my view... so much development is happening here to prepare for the 2010 winter olympics. Sigh, very annoying.

But your image! I don't think the leaves are in the way, in fact they hardly cuaght my attention, the colours are to beautiful and they keep your attention 100% Such a nice scene, great lighting and in all... I see now flaws, even the one you mentioned. :)
