an arabian face , originaly from makkah .The land where arabs were well known from long time ago, even befor the birth of prophet Muhammed( Peace be Upon Him ), for thier trading ,good poetry and the well arabic language .
there use to be competitions on poetry each year and the winner will have his poetry written in gold and hanged on the Kabba. The arabian alphabets
where learnt by heart at that time and not everyone was able to read or write and despite of that they had the power of words and the poets of that time were the masters of arabic poetry till this day ...
-------------
as a photograph , i took a picture of half of her face .after that in Photoshop i made it black and white and kept her scraf colored .
The arabic alphabets were added in a new layer .erased the alphabets from here eye only . this style of caligraphy and women portraite is inspired from an iranan photographer whom i admire so much .Her name is shirin neshat. I tried to imitate her style but instead of using farsi fonts i use the arabic thuluth font ...

An explanation of your technic will have been good. I assume it is a projection into the face or PP lab work.
Overall the composition is very good.

Very interesting technique. Composition here is very good, and the effect with the lettering is well done.

Very interesting technique and composition.
Beautiful face.
Great contrast with the black background.

I like it a lot,

Hi Sama!
This is an interesting composition. You could have put the opacity of the alphabet a little lower, specially on the lips. I like your framing.
Peace be with you,
Freddie :)

salam alekum assma :)

i was so eagerly waiting for your next post, and this one fills me with joy, envy and some (jealousy)...hehehe..

you have done a great job here... i had the same idea with the poetry being projected on the subjet/model... only difference is, i wanted to make my model stand against the wall, and then use an lcd projector to project persian poetry (omar khayyam) onto the model/subject...

but, i was too slow to try it, and you've done it finally :) although in your own unique way :) which i appreciate a lot :)

this photo also shows just how good a command you have over cropping (proper cropping, that is) and post processing :)

and i am sure, to begin with, this must have been a well planned, well conducted photo :)

i love the note, i had knowledge of what you've mentioned :) but your writing has made it all the more interesting for me :)

the one arab poet whom i know of is 'ibn arabi'... i haven't had the chance to look into arabic poetry, but persian poetry touches my soul... jalal-ud-din rumi and Muhammad iqbal, and then Omar khayyam...

by the way, your last name is 'farsi', you speak farsi or arabic? or both? just curious...

salam alekum :)

Hola Sama:

Me gusta mucho.

Un saludo, Sara.

wonderful effect, good perspective, grat in bw.
well done!

Well brother, beautifully done... I think here you have caught the beauty of both, this ladies face and the lovely Arabic script. Both are beautifully artful and meaningful.

I took a look at Shirin Neshat's photographer. But to be honest like yours more... :)

Keep up the great work. :)

Francis

Good composition with only half of the face. Great post processing work.

Hi Sama, splendid pP work, fascinating B&W halfportrait, very well done, ciao Silvio

Brilliant idea. Very nice portrait. This reminds me of that Arabian character in the film entitled The Mummy. He also had some Arabic letter printed on his face.

Excellent job on your post-process Sama. I salute you for that. IMO, it's flawlessly done.

WOW !!! Aassma this is amazing mashallah...
I love the composition and cropping the face is a very good idea !!
Excellent :D

Hi Sama
Attractive off-center composition in this black and white shot
Amazing face with penetrating eyes, strong shadows and highlights
The most interesting part is your post processing here, using Farsi and Arabic alphabet applied by layer technique, very well managed shot.
It would be more lovely if you remove the fonts from her lips
(I've been to Makkah but never seen such a face)
Best wishes
Alireza

Boa noite Sama,

Um trabalho bem diferente dos que estamos acostumados a ver por aqui.
Criatividade e bom gosto estão aqui presentes, além de um bom manejo da luz e de belas cores.
Meus sinceros parabéns e um forte abraço,
Sergio
