Hello motorcycle riders, this is your place to enjoy. The Ladakh roads, thrill, adventure, and lovely scenery to watch. But very nerve breaking, b/c if you miss the road...you missed for a life forever!

With the hairpin bends down to Lamayuru, surely one of the most picturesque and dramatically situated villages in India, if not in world.

Masterpiece of road design and engineering, the Hangru loops, popularly known as jalebi bends-carry the Kargil-Leh road down from Lamayuru to Khaltse. KUDOS to Border Road Organiztion, under Indian military who construct these roads. This is the point, virtually whole of the stretch can be seen in all its serpentine length of bends, loops and whorls.

There are total 23 such bends. There is one particular point from where one can see almost those bends (hard to capture though). The color of mountain is due to the alloys and minerals it has got. One can see not just gray, but red, russet, dull purple, ochre, pink and even green.

Hi Vandana

Wow! That's quite a winding road! Good downward pov. Tfs!

Hello Vandana!

Just a quickie!! That is a delight for touring enthousiast like me (^_^). I love driving twisty roads in a sport car.

Hard on brakes and nerves, but so much fun !
Great POV and composition to capture the whole scene.
Bravo!

Hi Vandana
Absolutely would love to ride my hawg through this winding road. Great POV and excellent detail. This may have been the inspiration for "the Long and Winding Road". Thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Vandana I think in the real life this is a 100x more impressive, somehoe with photo's like this the real
depht fades away on photo's , but do not get me wrong, this is so special!
(IM O the one in the ws is even a bit better)
Have a great weekend :-)

Hello Vandana,
We have this kind of roads in Norway too!
One in particular (Trollstigen) is popular among tourists...
You have found an impressive point of view here, and the frame gives a good impression of the place...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Ah! This is so lovely capture Vandana! I love the road (and I ride motocycle:) Endless details all the way and super composition!!!
I like various textures of the labscape that you captured so well:)
David

Looks quite dangerous! It reminds me of the winding zoom-zoom road in the Mazda commercials! Would be an enjoyable ride, with no regard to getting hurt (gotta have youthful enthusiasm!)
Cheers

Hi Vandana, I don't know if it is a paradise for a motorcycle because I don't do any but it's a very nice pov on the zigzaging road. Not easy to drive there. Well composed. Nice repetiton of the slopes.

Great work, Yan :)

The longest distance between two points is the curved line or something like that. Nice place for F1 racing. Nice and different landscape. It is a little bit similar to the Kyber's pass in Pakistan.
TFS, Sylvain

Hi Vandana,

Great shot here my friend, I guess this is just like riding the Isle of Man TT course. Probably slower though as there looks like a lot of tight twists there :)

Great aerial shot

John

No thanks Vandana, I become very ill driving on roads like that, There are some here in Tasmania much the same. Two excellent images with good definition and lovely colours. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Helen Trauber’

What a maze! Effective pov with good shapness and exposure. Indeed bikers will like this terrain. Best regards Vandana!

Hi Vandana,
Very nice landscape. I like the winding and twisting road. I agree it would be fantastic driving there with a motorcycle.
AND nerve wrecking too.
Well done,
BEn

Sad making view in a fantastic taken POV !

Hi Vandana,
Excellent point of view in this very nice composition. I like the roads effect and how you framed the picture.
TFS and cheers

Hi Vandana,

I don't have a motorbike, although I must admit this must be a real challange to speed downwards (imagine Sheelbeesmom/Linda/Calamity) is traveling with 150mph down this hill :) Boy don't want to know what the impact would be if anything goes wrong.....

Anyhow, a splendid panoroma you show us here, excellent Vandana really superb!

Hans

:) Later...

Well, this is a diffrent photo.
Sorry but it reminds me a little of a drive to a funeral. There is something sad about this photo and that aspect I do not like.
Like you discribe its a dangerous road and we can see that.
No flowers-trees, as if death is all around there. When a photo makes us fall in love with it it has applied on our emotions, feelings.. when ..like here ..it makes me feel down / sad it also applied strongly on my feelings
That is the reason I have to give you an enormous compliment Vandana!

Hey Vandana,
We have been on roads like this in Norway, France and Switzerland...
also with the car it's nice to drive this kind of roads, although they sometimes are quite narrow.... and dangerous!

The landscape itself looks very dull... no plants and trees there.......
But.. that's something you can't change..
Nevertheless it's a very nice capture Vandana.

:-)
Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Vandana, now this is a nice scene viewed from a good shooting point. Reminds me of the Tv commercial Zoom Zoom...and can't for the life of me remember what car it is they're advertising. It does look like a fun and challenging drive. Good OV, compo and detailed throughout the image. Very nice shot with true to life colors and thanks so much for sharing this one. Lyndon

Hi Vandana,

Beautiful look of this highway for motorcyclist, I am sure that will be full of them after this vision there running. an interesting fact is that she reminds me for the curves the descent of São Paulo for my city, that is below the sea level, and she has these curve, only that it changes the landscape, here it is alone earth, in mine it is surrounded by the Forest of Atlantic Ocean. Interesting.
Congratulations for the beautiful look!

Inaam sent this link to me a few days back and I was amazed at the twists and turns! I wonder if I would make it all the way down! Wonderful interesting shot!

Namaste Vandana,
Ah this shot reminds me of so much, as I travelled some 25 years ago on top of a truck on that particular road, before it was diverted (terribly frightening, those some 18 hairpin curves just after Lamayuru) - returned there 17 years later, this time travelled in the cabin of Kashmiri truck drivers, and did not feel that more safe.
Thank you to remind me of those "precious" moments ...
Cath.

Hi Vandana,
Your photo remind me such good souvenir of motorcycle riding (witch I did for ... 25 years). This is the kind of road that you can ride three time because you come back from where you started. Just enough details vs landscape to let us feel the atmosphere. Well see !
