Self Practice with the Selftimer :-)

How nice it would be to see more self portraits of
TL friends *__* Get to know the face behind a name!!!

Soon I have a wedding to report and many persons
like to have extra portraits.
So I again operated the self timer.

My bf suggested to post this one he liked it,
is he right?
(One is always a bad judge on one self)

I will also upload a 'self' in grey,
so see the WS too pleasse.

Vandana :-)

You're getting good at this! Beautiful portrait and a beautiful smile! Lighting is great, dress color selection is perfect, because what stands out, was you, the main subject! Tfs

Hello Vandana.

Very fine selfportrait. You look very pleased with what you do. this is very "fresh" portrait cos of your very optimistic expression. I enjoy looking at this self portrait.
Only wish that your photo is bigger and that your frame is smaller.
Best regards DArko

Hello Vandana,
This is a beautiful portrait. I like this dark BG that makes you stands out very well. Lightning and exposure are very nice and so is composition and POV. Nicely done! OK, I'll send a self portrait when I get rid of this weight I gained in the last months by making to many pictures and computer and not enough exercises ;) Thanks,
PS, I like the picture in WS a lot too

Yes this is cool! Well done and your lovely blue eyes are well presented here.
Vandana, your boyfriend is a lucky guy! And he knows what to choose for you! Let him do moore! ;-) The coice you made with tthe strong dominated black back ground is great, although its almost eating you completely. Gad what a few days with me in Torontocan do to a persons photo Art,(hehehehe) Permit me to be a little ''amicale'' and say: Babe I am proud of you! And send a big hug for this!

Did you see Josine's? she is completely wet!

Superb self portrait Vandana, the subject is very beautiful and very nicely presented. The black bg is perfect. for this presentation. I did a workshop to show how I see the frame for this portrait, I am sure there can be many other ways to add a personilize touch to the presentation that are just as good or better. I try to kept it simple and not distracting. TFS

Hi Vandana
Mate! Wow, first impressions of this are just how beautiful you are!
As far as a critique goes, well framing, pose, and lighting are all good, although you're discovering the same struggle I have in my portraits with lighting black hair against a black background. It's not easy! Sometimes the hair light - all you need is a standing-lamp to the left or right) needs a little help from the dodge tool.
Anyway, once again TWO stunning portraits - the b&w actually you should post again as a separate portrait!

Hello Vandana,
Very beautiful self portrait good composition and I like your frame work.
Well done and TFS,

Hi Vandana,
Looking at a superb portrait of a gorgeous woman. Just to say BEAUTIFUL!

All three are very nice. The very dark b/g makes your hair dissapear hear. But on the other hand place the focus on the face. So great. The b&w is also nice. There the hair takes more of the focus. And you have beautiful long hair so why not. Well done.

Hi Vandana, excellent blend with the background, I think your beautiful hair would be nice to see a bit more, nice comfortable pose, and excellent even light in the face area!!!
Well done of self timer:)

Hi Vandana
Small image but a great pose that makes a beautiful portrait. You are probably aware that I do not like large borders. Make your image larger as you should be proud of it. Well done.

It is a great attempt at the SP! My personal preference goes for the WS one because you look more spontaneous there.

Hello Vandana,
This is a very beautiful autoportrait and I like your pose and the nice soft lighting. I would just prefered a much smaller frame so we can see more the photo that is very small in here.

I prefer the BW and here is why, it is SO natural, unposed and exotic!! You did a great job! By the time I ran and got into the shot, my hair would be flying and my make up smeared! HAHAHA!

Hello Vandana,

Your self portrait is Just wonderful, excllent details the colors are spot on the light is Perfect and the fram is wonderful, well done

Hi Vandana,
Wonderful self portrait with a great smile. Very nice color and I love...the black BG and frame :-)
Well done
Best regards

It was a good suggestion to post this. Very nice portrait - holding your breath, keeping the smile and trying not to blink.....always satisfying when it works out well, and here it did!

Another lovely self-portrait Vandana.
A very relaxed pose - I see that you have taken up my advice about turning your head towards the lens axis! - a fantastic smile, and excellent lighting.
Well done!

I really like the grey version!! Contrast works really well there,
Have a great weekend!
(and have fun with the wedding report! hope to see some of the pics here...)

Hello Miss India.
No wonder you was. lol
Very beautiful result, good done Vandana.
I see you'r still smiling. lol

Hi Vandana, splendid selfportrait with great presentation, fascinating photo, I like also the ws, expecially the B&W version, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Vandana

Good self portrait, with excellent graphism & lighting. Makes you look dignified, but not arrogant, due to the faint smile, & soft lines around the face. Tfs!

Excelent portrait Vandana. Beautifull model :-)
Very well done... tfs. Stev

good self portrait here vandana :)
very nice smile :)
good presentation with the thick border

Well, Vandana, the portrait is excellent. The pose is managed with a great sense of timing as it is a self-portrait. The pose has the right mix of poise, suggestiveness and joy suffused with dignity. I prefer no text on images, but wedding assignements demand them I guess.
I found the workshop quite interesting, though the sharpening is not quite necessary. The B/W can and should be a separate post.
You are a terrific looking woman with a fantastic figure, you exude sensuality.
And, do you know, you look a lot like Supriya Chowdhuri, a star on the Bengali screen.

Hello dear Vandana, you did a beautiful self portrait, well realised and deep colours.

I grabed your invitation and posted a self portrait too.

Very well done! Take care, Yan!

Ps: many thx for your review in "Lake Philippe Pathway". It's really appreciated :)

Oh oh, Well Vandana you have that special something that can hardley be defined, and you know what, not looking into the lens adds something special, now we have to guess, clever and good work! I love it ( and.....lol)

Critiques from others, well infact that says it all.. a few dont like your frame ... as always personal!!! Its wrong that some talk in absolutes, they make it sound as if THEY know whats best and thats ofcourse not the case! So the two workshops done, nice of the guys but no one adds something and saying so, yes ofcourse thats again my view!
Just do what YOU think is nice Vandana!

Hi Vandana!
Nice model! Can you give me her phone number, please?

Hello again !

Looking at this kind invitation , I worked on an auto-portrait (^_^)which I presented yesterday.

I have mixed feelings about this one my dear. I won't talk about the beauty of the model (^_^), or her charm here.
Here I will talk about the composition and presentation. Even if the score yet is quite high as it is posted.

I propose you a Ws to demonstrate what I am talking about.

Since you are not looking at us but at your left, more space on your left would be needed. At at the same time it will off-center you. I like a lot the application of the Rules of third. I think here it should be applied too.

Here, I am sorry but the Title and note are far too big and distractive IMVHO. We know it is a self-portrait (^_^). Like Paul saw, better put the focus on the photo instead of the frame. Therefore a smaller frame, since you are already in a dark environment would be better. The black environment is already framing you naturally.

Hope you will find this constructive, and useful.
Your friend down the river (^_^)
Robert :) will follow

hi vandana!
easy to you, you have beautiful model :-))

I do like this one portrait. The black BG combined with your dark clothes allow your skin tones to pop out and show off your smile and your eyes.

Well done Vandana, of the two I prefer this one, but both are good.
I like how you have yourself looking to the side and not at the camera. And how you black clothes merge into teh black BG. TFS

I think your bf was right, Vandana. It is a nice sp. Truly. The b&w version works equally well. If you do the wedding reportage, be sure to shoot in raw. Conversion to b&w will be very easy, and if they prefer colour you have that too ;o)).

A beautiful smile has been captured in this selfportrait. Excellent presentation with dark background and no starring at the lense is interesting. Well done my friend.

Thanks for sharing it.

Really a fantastic shot, very elegant, well presented and well framed - could never succeed in such a genre...
