[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
No, he is not physically chained to something. But like a lot of street children in Manila, he cannot seem to let go of the chains of poverty.

According to statistics, there are more than 50,000 street children in the Philippines (as of year 2000). Today, after seven years, it seems that that number actually increased.

Hi Allan,
Excellent black and white. Love the way u frame it.
I have done a WS. There is ofcourse nothing wrong with this, but just to get a different POV. Hope you like it.

Lopa

Poverty is everywhere, but some people tend to forget about the less fortunate; glad to see that you don't...

Very good shot. I like the point of view and choice of black and white. Shame to know so many children live this way.

Excellent work Allan
Great use of the from-above POV to emphasise the vulnerability of the child, and he has really done well in terms of mood and expression. A good approach to this theme and an excellent title.
It really is a wake-up to somebody like me, coming from a relatively affluent country, to see these kids on the streets and MRT stations of Manila. It puts a new perspective on life.
Well done my friend

Hi Allan,

I like the distortion here resulting from a good pov. Nice pp too. TFS.

Konie

Hi Allan,

Wow something very different from you today... different as in, wow- very effective. Although very upsetting. His eyes really hold out the truth in the image, and the chains just seem to imprint the awfulness inside your head. And the perfect use of contrast here is just... wow, perfect! Great composition adn the balance is just... well done.

Very provoking image. TFS.

Biance.

Great POV, pre. Well done on the PP as well. Ayos!
