Up to now I think that portraits in our stamp collection were minority. Good choice of a theme, I think that our friend John will become even more famous while travelling around the world on this wonderful porstraimpt :)

That a very nice portrait of the Master of the camera.
Very nice colors and POV. You capture his eternal smile.
Please forgive me but I wouldn’t call it a new thing since it was used at numerous occasions over the last months.
I believe Robert (Perryhooter) was the first on to use it on Oct 17th 2006.
In his case, it works very well and gives a sense of a true stamp.
Here, it doesn’t look credible but you used the category humor witch is fine.
Composition: 6/10 (Subject positioning, crop, pov) the circle is over his head.
Creativity: 1/10 (Originality, usage of imagination, thinking outside the box)
There is absolutely nothing original about posting a picture of John Tulip.
The subject has been overly used.
Rigor: 4/10 (Sharpness, Exposure, PP, Presentation,)
The pic is out of focus and fuzzy and the stamp is really not my thing. I’m not a fan of designs and drawings around a photograph.
Exploitation of the light 8.5/10
Statement 8/10 (Ability of communicating an idea, a mood, a message with the image)
With out the frame and if it would have been sharper, it's a decent portrait.
My humble assessment.

Now that's a great stamp pic! Great portrait of John! TFS
It's better than the usual picture of the queen. Do you realize that John is now going to get licked in the back every time somebody uses this stamp?

Hahaha...this must be the King of Canada! Great tribute to this very TL dedicated Cloggy my dear Vandana. John earns this; but is the stamp value of 51c enough? Great posting and a real collectors item for the TL-stamp collector ;)
Vandana what did you doo..hahaha
Well you did it. Never ever go on a TL safari with Luc and youagain . *_^ Oh well.. I have to say this technic is great..

A very amusing contribution to the series, Vendana and I like the PP work you did to soften the edges of the portrait. However, is it just *my* failing vision or is it a little bit soft-focus overall?

Oh no oh no :-)
Where do I know this guy from? Vandana I noticed this stamp series (Rob-p'hooter introduced it as you indeed state in your intro) and good you also tried. New techniques open new ways. You handled it very well, the circkle sort of blur is good and its razor sharp inside that! Big smile for this one, also from Patricia.. she laught seeing our friend on a stamp and the remark of Sleger:''Do you realize that John is now going to get licked in the back every time somebody uses this stamp'' and yours back etc, GREAT
! Have fun and bye,

Ah, poor John got hit in the head with the cancellation stamp!
I made the comment before: I think the stamp is too slick: would like to see cloned onto a real stamp, with imperfections in the perforations and all, just my thought.
You captured a very nice and gentle expression here. I like the photo.
