My second portrait of the Tboli's...

The first one was Appeasing The Ancestors (contains more detailed background on the Tboli tribe).

These Tboli girls are wearing their traditional dresses. We were fortunate to chance upon them on a market day (Saturday) so a lot of them are wearing very colorful dresses. The Tbolis are very fond of beads and small brass bells. They use them as earings, necklaces, belts, etc.

It was an impromptu shoot. My kids, who tagged along (as always :D), said "smile" and I took two shots. Then off they went...

( I set my aperture to F1.8 to get the shallowest of DOF but I guess the background was just too near to be blurred enough. Didnt really want to fiddle with it in PS :) )

Workshops, comments and critiques are very much welcome.

Nice composition ,still...try to make the girls laugh next time ;-)

I love how they are dressed up in bright colors with the subdued backround. Wonderful composition. I love the black frame around it, it tops it off!Wonderful job!

Cute little girsl with these colorful costumes. They were not to confident in front of the camera . Nevertheless, their expressions are still charming. Love to see them with their hands together.
I added it to my theme: Favorite smiles of children of the world.
Cheers!
Robert
