photo was taken with spot meetering on the nose and 1 point overexposure deliberately to eliminate trees from far background.
original was color.
just converted to grayscale, colorized the head thing and framed.

You keep using selective desaturation in new ways and on new subjects, so I could never get bored of it. This is one of the better ones I think. Contrast is great, and I think the almost low-key approach works great in this case. That bit of purple takes up so little space in the photograph, but it's vivid colour grabs your attention right away. The slightly off-center composition works well too.

I like this portrait with the pose of this little girl and the nice lighting. The selective desaturation is cerating a very nice final touch in it. Very well done.

Nice capture Simon. You are right about the light..it creates a good visual effect. Interesting frame....stands out. Good capture.
