The Bald Eagle is a common site in various parts of North America. From Alaska down to British Columbia across to Ontario and Quebec south to Florida across to California. There are two subspecies which is in question and in debate as this is One Specie of two sizes. The largest race is Alaska and across Canada and the smaller race is Florida and California. I also believe this to be one race.

Back to this one. When I first joined Trek N. two years this coming fall, I posted "Mr Eagle Eye." This name given to me by a member of Trek N.
In 1992 I visited a rapture rehabilitation center, "Mounstberg Wildlife Center," in Campbellville Ontario. Some raptors are permanent, others are let go after recovery. This Bald eagle, however, will never fly due to an injury that caused permanent damage. Also it was nice to have seen him again after 14 years from the first time when he had sling on his wing. This time he was free of the sling and looked good. He was very much interested in the people and occasionaly staring up in the sky, which he would tilt his head and focus on something up there. It's Sad to see this beautiful bird behind a fence.
The Greek translation to Haliaeetus leucocephalus is "White headed fish eagle."

Hope you like this close-up of the Bald Eagle Eye.
The usual in CS2 and thanks for looking.

Mike

The details are oustanding and the colors very nice. I love the reflections in its' eye. We have been seeing these majestic birds here in our area as well. The lake where I go fishing has had a mating pair there for three years now.
Great notes Mike and thanks so much for sharing this fantastic image. A shot not seen too often this close up.

Love and Peace always

Hi Mike, yes, it is sad to see these beautiful birds behind a fence, but if he wasn't brought in he wouldn't be alive now. So...
Super capture of Mr Bald Eagle's eye. Such excellent clarity and sharpness. Well done,
Janice

Masterful macro Mike, brilliant.

Peter

Awesome macro shot Mike. You seem to have caught his spirit. I've seen a couple in the area of Hamilton and I'm told they may be making a come back in this area. Hopefully the rumour is true. Great work.

Joe

Wow!

The details are sensational! Great photo Mike, truly gorgeous.
Those eyes of the bald eagle are so... imperial, he could stare you down until you were nothing!

I like the super tight crop, it's very useful since it has us focusing on the beautiful and yet almost menacing details of this beautiful bird!

Biance.

TREMENDOUS CLOSE-UP

sharp, clear.

There isn't anybody as talented as you to create such impressive and unique shots!
How do you get so close, and the photo still conservs all its quality?
I am trully fascinated!

Gorgeous portrait of an eagle here Mike. Very well done. I should practice. I have the exact camera minus the Hoya. I should try this closeup shot myself.

Beautifully crisp eye!! He has the look of a law professor :)) I have tried a similar shot with a pelican - but it fizzled, their eye color is nothing like the Bald Eagle's.

An awesome pic! TFS
