Ok, another one from the metro, and I promise the last one.
I noticed this lady reading, so I decided to wait till the train comes. I placed the camera on my knee this time, as I thought it would be good to take a shot from a lower angle (so I kneeled down). She did notice me, looked at me shortly, and went on reading completely uninterested. Hence the title.

PP: converting to B&W, cropping the upper part, slight noise reduction, framing, resizing.

Hi Marija : )
again a great photo from the metro... less colors than the previous one ; D
I like the motion blur against this static person... I don't know why, it came to my mind those words : "solitude standing"...

Thanks ; )

Perfect composition Maria, i would love to have taken a shot like this one...Very well seen, captured and presented. The title is perfect too. Will add to favs. TFS
Forgot to add B/W works very well here. Well done once again lol :)

This is really a great catch.
The b/w is a great touch for the mood of this Indifference(great title as well)
Definitely like the composition here.
The seemingly blazing moovement of the train and the isolated stillness of the woman are great contradictions and blend nicely for this photo.
Really like the widescreen feel with the framing.

Going into my favorites theme. Thank you.
Sorry I kind of disappeared again. Recovering from a nasty nasty flu/sinus infection that just knocked me for a loop.
Will be back soon with some images.....although being back into experimental music is taking up my interest at this moment.....quite suprising what one can come up with while being quite deranged from being sick....hehe....not everyones type of music but its what I do.....ok talk to ya later.

Great imagery Marija,

i hope that not last one: i really like static person reading book and fast metro
very nice contrast, time, pov, compo

very well taken photo with the story behind
well done,Marija,well done

Ajme Mareeeee! Pa ovo je genijalno!! Ej, "serija" ti je fantastična, zaista si me ugodno iznenadila na početku ovog tjedna.

I don't have much (working tonight) time Marija but for a great photo as this I must stop and write some words. Very strong composition and yes B&W is the best choise. Why the last of this serie it your two photos are from great quality ;-)
Have a wonderful evening my friend.

Superb, Marija, the comp, the tones, love it, thanx, M, (*_*)

Nice shot, Marija! Simple composition, yet quite effective. Your frame works very well here by adding two more zones to this essentially horizontal composition. Good catch!

Hi Maria,
Your exposure on this shot is just right, enought to capture interesting motion in the train, and to keep the woman in focus. Composition - perfect!
Well done.

Excellent values, composition and feeling. Well done Marija. I love the rich blacks which are enhanced by your black frame on the top and bottom.

Allo Marija,

Following our conversation, I omit to admit that I don't think I'm a very good critique. I clearly know what I like and even more what I dislike but to put it in words doesn't come easy for me.

Having said that, this picture is again perfection. Simple 1/3 composition, perfect shutter speed blurring the train but not too much so we can recognize the silhouette, the title is dead on, the lady is so absorbed by her book that nothing else matter. The grey scale is perfect contrast wise.

Perfect composition Marija.

Salut Marija,

One morenice shot.

Great subway shot, Marija, with a superb composition. The train zipping by this lady quietly reading and no one else around makes this shot for me. Everything is horizontal in this picture except for one vertical line in the corner of the wall where the lady in leaning on. Excellent!

A very strong photograph depicting the everyday traveller in the subway. Wait for the next train, and occupy yourself with a good book.
Great choice of colour and the movement of the train is perfect for your note. Well done.

beautiful, and nice PP work here;I like the framework too.

Hello again!
Wonderful composition;
Good title;
The black and white mode is perfect in here;
Great piece of work!! Congratulations!!
Be safe! :O)

What a nice lady! She was probably just trying to be a good model for you, and she succeeded well, didn't she?

Nice tones, and great job with the exposure to get the train blurred perfectly.

Gayle :)

Excellent composition,Marija! This is a very nice moody picture! The metro can come and go,who cares? The lady is reading and her mind is already travelling in another mental metro! Very good! Michel

I like shots taken in the metro. If you have anymore, please share them Marija :)

I prefer this one to the other one...this one is plain, simple and effective. The moving train adds the dynamism to this static shot. Well done! Good choice of B&W as well.

Btw, with which camera did you take this shot? ...I'm just thinking that if you were pointing a SLR (or big cameras), she would have been uneasy (I might be wrong :).

A great shot nevertheless! Bravo!

Hello black-frame girl, but with bits missing.
Classic train station shot. Seen very similar a few times before but you did a good job of recreating. Don't they provide seating in your neck of the woods?
Title is very relevant and adds a lot.
Usual complimentary photographic words as above and there is nothing to detract from what is a technically good shot.
Well - the funny frame is disturbing.
Manila Jury took forever to make up their minds on this and deducted marks for the ... frame. 9/10 they said.

the contrast of the moving train and reading lady is great :)
lovely mood you created, this looks best in b/w
i like the movie-like frame you did here

Dobar dan Marija !

Woo Hoo this a a beautiful composition. I prefer this one compared to the one posted yeterday. Like an old French movie of the 50's.
I added it in my favorites under a new Theme titled Favorites Public transportation.
Great title too. TFS,

Perfect composition with the story behind.

I like this one a lot. The fast moving train, the lonely lady at the side. All excellent. My compliments to you.

Hi! Marija,

But the train is standing still and the platform is moving very fast indeed;))(half full/empty)
The title is excelent and this lady is really enjoying the book or is she!!? Having seen you there with the camera I think she is wondering if it will make the evening papers and if she looks OK for this notoriety. My guess is she feels ok and waits to hear the click over the noisey train and will move then.
Very interesting study of human reactions. Just the frame has become part of the scene and gives another dimension to the scene. I might have made it white with a thin black line either side instead.
9/10. Well done. She would have loved a copy of this shot and she would have gained a greater understanding of this fine art.

Wow. This is really good Marija! Great idea with waiting for a train. The black border on top and bottom is nice but I think it is a bit too wide.

Regards :)

beautiful picture... I wonder what did she read?? mmm:) I bet it was a good novel:) in this picture I see myself, reading, reading, all the world turning and me didn't even want to notice:)

in my fav:)

Fast speed one and stable one. Indifference. Great capture! And your POV is perfect. Just make me think that the thoughts coming and going so fast in our minds but while reading we have a chance keep them calm by focusing whats written.
So nice shot Marija, congrats!

Hi Marija, I am in net cafe...just love your picture, great capture, and great to see people reading...so seldom this days..
This is what your title also inspires me:)

A hug, Sabina

Fine image, Marija. Speed and stillness. Excellent exposure.

Hey, how could I missed this one???? :)
This is really great! The contrast between stillness and motion is shown perfectly! And B&W add more to the feel of our rushing world!! TfS

This one could do great in advertising:) The world rushes by, but you............. take time!
Great photo wonderfull movenment and somehow silence in it!

Hi Maria.
Odlicna crno/bela.Kompozicija prvenstveno,ne prvo ide ono sto slika kaze pa tek kompozicija.

Hi Maria,
great mood, great compo. Good story contrast spped of the train and calmnest of the reader.

I found this while snooping through your gallery. What a great image, Marija! I love the mood here, and the motion effect of the longer exposure. Nice work!

Hi Marija,

This is a great shot, Initially it looks so peaceful, yet with that train blasting past I can't imagine how that lady is so focused on her book. B&W really does this shot justice too. Very well done!

You amazing photos Marija. I had the most difficult time to chose to comment on them. This one is superb. Thank you.

Great shot!

I've decided to end off my day, by critiquing your photograph and not just any photograph but this one!

I thought that the shot, the post-processing and the symmetry of it, is just so brilliant and so perfect. I don't know if it will all come out the way I want it to, but their is just such a natural feeling to it. life in europe is much different than it is here and yet it is also as fast pace, always on the go, never stopping to read a book nor to do anything enjoyable that takes up time!

great shot!
ps. points tomorrow

Very good composition Marija. I like the contrast between train and this men...

Impressive shot with a nice and distant mood. Stilness Vs motion. Concentration Vs chaos.
