New Year's Eve in Suriname is a massive event. People spend thousands of dollars on fireworks and neighbors often compete with each other to prove who can set up the best show. There are very few laws that restrict fireworks, so these people are only limited by they're budget. At the end of the night the air is thick with smoke, and visibility is reduced to only a few feet. |
