What a stunning place Patagonia is!!!! This is the view of Mt FitzRoy as you approach the town of El Chalten having driven up from our base in El Calafate 220km by road to the south.

This area is a summer-time haven for hikers, climbers, bikers etc etc. As you can see, we got lucky with the weather and climbed up to the glacial lakes that flank the side of this mountain.

50mm, 1/90sec at f10 and ISO 160...

Bonjour David,

Beautifull landscape and not with your addictive 10-20mm. But I must admit that here this lens covers all you need in the landscape Usual compliment for the technic sharpnessa and exposure, use of the polar is very discret but brings clean colors. Composiition is very pleaseant and a like when we enter an image from the left (must be our occidental way for reading text left to right) Good documentary image. I remember seeing the place on earth true Art Wolf documentaries (Travel to the Edge of the World with Art Wolf). Good work and TFS.

Hi David,
I am real envious of you! You do get to some really interesting corners of the world. I would love to go to Patagonia.
Indeed a stunning vista. The road nicely leads yo to the mountains - literally and figuratively.

Hi David,

That is one amazing backdrop,Patagonia is one place I would love to spend about a month photographing.
Your positioning of the road just draws you in,your job certainly has it's perks.

Olá david
I love the perspective...it is as you gave me the chance to approach at the sametime than you. good colors, fine sharpness and incredible view. As usual very very good

Hi David
indeed stunning view captured from a good POV. excellent shot. the diagonal road is a fine pulling line into the depth of the scene to feel the impressive Mt FitzRoy.

Bom dia David,
Excellent POV and narrow DOF. I love the image produced with good observance of thirdies and parallel highlighted by the road markings. Beautiful place and superb postcard.

Hi David,
A nice panorama of this Patagonia. Beautiful mountain scape adorned with splendid lighting. I like the deep perspective created by the lead-in road! A very sharp and neat image enclosed in an elegant framework.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello David

Wow wow wow Bella Bella, what a stunner of an image, so crisp and clean, perfection.

Did you change sky at all?

Wow, what a stunning view. Love the lead-in with the road - the lines nicely coming out of the corner. Also love the colors ... amazing sky and incredible jagged peaks. Must have been a great holiday (all four of you?)
Have a good week

Very attractive view. good lines, sharpness, and colours. Very good composition. Good work.

What a view! So cool that you pulled off for a shot. Excellent quality and sharpness David! Amazing that the fence is so far off the road. I might would have taken a walk off the road and gotten a lower POV, therefore making the road disappear...or are there snakes? eeeek!!

Hi David!
Very good composition, with great perspective.
Superb DOF. Nice lighting and wonderful colours.
The colour of the sky is incredible!
Excellent presentation.
Ciao! Vanda

Hello David, the sharp quality of your shot is outstanding!
I cannot believe the jagged edges of the mountains!
One of those shots where I feel as if I am standing on the road enjoying the view.
Excellent work.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi David ,
Patagonia is immense ,desolate , barren , sparsely populated and a lot more but it can be extremely beautiful and you found that beautiful and postcard perfect spot here my friend .
They finally paved that road , what a smoother ride this must have been for you. I heard say that road 40 is being paved , sure is about time they did the paving as this will open up the whole vast western region for good and this all the way to Esquel to the north.
Great compo with the road leading the eye into the scene with the Fitzroy in full view , what a majestic moutain it is in perfect weather , a killer shot !
Thanks for sharing this image ,

Hi David

You're right, it is beautiful. A marvellous blue sky with excellent sharpness & good exposure on the highlights of the ice & snow. The road adds nice lead in lines & perspective. Perfect sharpness! Tfs.

Hi David,

The road is leading my eye toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the mountains. The quality of the light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.
