Dear frined on TL here is a puzzle for you to work out what this photo is. I took the photo in Papua new Guinea when I was living there in 1972.
What you see is a war relic. Rabaul was actually the most bombed town in the 2nd world war (a surprise to most people). For protection from the American and Australian bombing the Japanese built a network of tunnels. This one which when I visited was well above water level due to volcanic activity was used to house landing craft and that is what you see here - a WW11 landing craft rusting away.
The 2 people in the photos were our guides to the spot.
