[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When this old tree was a sapling, it would have been quite happy in the middle of the paddock.
Because of EROSION, the edge of the paddock is moving...

Because I don't go out of my way to get Erosion shots, I had to trawl through some old folders.
I would imagine this unfortunate tree is at the bottom of the cliff now.

A wonderful observation and a nice shot which fits very well into today's theme, Pete!

Great focus and well caught contrasts in the picture.
The light and exposure are beautifully handled, and colors are natural.
Good approach!

Have a nice weekend.

Kind regards,

It would be interesting to see if the tree is indeed still there Peter.

No doubt at all that this shot depicts erosion in all it's destructive force.
Good entry for this week's theme.

Hi Peter.

The grey tones to the sky work so well here, it protrudes the cliff and tree forward more and especially the shadows aid too. Great addition to theme. tfs

stv ;o))

Hello Peter, I see that you took this shot in 2009, I wonder if the tree is still hanging in there?
I like this shot, the colours and the subject.
A good light that highlights the tree beautifully.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Wow Pete, one would think that the weight of this trees branches, would have gravity pull it out of the ground, hard to believe its roots have that much strength.Great choice for this weeks theme.

It's amazing to see how natures way to survive :D Wonderful entry to the theme :)

Hi Pete, a dramatic scene of Erosion - Nature at work - This is taken three yrs ago, I agree the tree might be gone from its birthplace.
Very good contribution to the Friday Theme
kind regards Monika

Hi Pete, looks like it was getting plenty of water though with the run-off going down the rocks. Looks like it was getting a hell of a beating from the wind too. Fiona
