|The Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens) is generally a solitary animal and has a diet including bamboo leaves, berries, and bird eggs. It is classified as being an endangered species on account of their natural environment having reduced in size. |
Approximately 2500 adult pandas are throught to exist in the world. Litters may comprise 1 – 4 young, born after a gestation of about 134 days.
There are currently two pandas at Wellington Zoo.
