Double Congratulation! For the boy at first... For the picture too. The effect is terrific. I imagine pratically the crying! It is suppossed to be the most eprouving experience of our life... I mean not for you.. For him.. To get out of a world were everything is made to his conveniance. He don't have to eat, to breath, to clothing... And to be trought out ouf a so small ouverture :o) But in conpensation he will have a long life.. and he will not remembering that hard transition.
I'm impress by the texture over reveal by the organic covering he had... Especialy for the hands...
Great Shot!

Wow! This is quite the stunner of a picture. Actually I hope you don't mide me saying this but it did send a chill through me, because of the intensity of the picture and the moment captured. The color one would have been very doctor material but the B&W is very very intense. A wonderful moment, I cannot imagine how it must have felt, you must really treasure this picture I guess. Congratulations to you Robert and his Mum and definitely to Nicholas too for a rare moment in time. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Ravi.

Indeed I find this shot really well performed Robet. I love it, how you cropped and find the right contrast.
Congratulation and thanks for sharing this precious moment with us.

I love this shot!! I am a delivery nurse in the states (will someday visit NZ!) and This is so beautifully captured. The injustice of our cold world..."what are you doing to me?" I wish I could bring my camera to work and catch those first moments. I was really too busy when mine were delivered (being the mom!)
WOW! Congratulations on being a dad. My babies are five years old and eight months old. They are the end all and be all! Good luck. Jennifer

Wow man, thanks for sharing such a moment with us... :) Sure looks like he's got a good set of lungs... :) Congradulations! :) OH g I see this was quite a long time ago... seems your Nicholas must be turning 5 this April 21st. :)
Just love this... :) we await our next child in August, and this sure helps to envisage what those first moments might be like... :)
Our son Valters is 5 years old now also... :)
Best wishes to you and your family this Easter! :)

Great shot Rob! A special moment indeed - I have 4 of my own. B&W was the right medium too I believe. (Best wishes to Mum).
