A cheerful view of Waiheke

It's already almost one year ago I left for my holiday in New Zealand, so good memories force me to dig into my New Zealand portfolio and find a cheerful image to cheer us up in these dark days on the northern hemisphere.
Well here an image which I took on the island of Waiheke in the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland. The Agapanthus flowers showing of here, not spoiling the view in my opinion, although I know this flower is the pest in NZ.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the view too.

PP work: shot in Raw, adjusted vibrancy, exposure, brightness and contrast (all minor). Converted to jpeg, adjusted levels and curves, and used unsharpen mask. Selected sky, using ctrl+i (invert), curves and brush tool, to decrease the brightness a bit so the clouds would stand out as in reality. Resized and add small frame.

Hi Hans,
A very pleasing panorama of these boats behind all this greenery and beautiful blue flowers.
You made use of a natural frame to your presentation and obtained a resonable DOF with f/9.5 and leaving the blue flowers in slight out of focus.
I like the effect!
Beautiful sky and very natural colors.
Well done,
Regards,

Francis Xavier

It's a beautiful place to visit Hans - I did a day trip to Waiheke a few years back (well before my days here on TL) and did the clifftop walk around the bit of island near the harbour..

You've captured it well, nice view, great colour - if anything I'd say that the flowers are slightly out of focus but maybe that's just my eyes!!

Cheers
DAVid

Hello Hans,

A sweet glimpse of the lake. I especially like the blue agapanthus (I think that's what they are) on the f/g. The nautical features of the lake are emphasized with the distant petite boats, there is good depth. Regards.

Hello Hans! Hello my neighbour in gallery today :)
Big pleasure!
Great shot and well captured from good point of view.
Flowers on the foreground make it!
Have a good weekend!

Regards.

Hello Hans - With all the cold winter shots, it's nice to see a summer view! Excellent depth of field and beautiful colors and framing.
Have a good day,
Gilbert

Hello Hans,
Great POV, beautiful composition.
Regards
Lucja

We are enjoying nice warm days again like this one Hans, the humidity is back, we had warm balmy rain yesterday and going to be fine today.

Nice composition here with a little peek at the sail boats.

This is so typically Waiheke, the type of glimpse you see all over the island. Good that you had a nice sunny day to capture it.

I'm surprised that the composition works so well - you've forced the viewer to be looking dead-centre of the frame, and yet it is a successful formula here.

Tfs
Joop!

That's wonderful, Hans, the view, the flowers - the sunshine and the nice clouds.
A fantastic moment captured in a good shot, thanks - some day I realy have to go to New Zealand ...

Ahhh me favorite color flowers! How beautiful Hans! Very nice work on this. I like how you made the fit in the shot so well, making them the focal point, but yet a beautiful background also! Good job!

Hi Hansie
Lovely to see the Agapanthus flowers - they are in full bloom now!!! You also have Pohutukawa trees and mangroves too. The Pohutukawas are starting to bloom now - and look even better than last year...
Nicely composed image my friend - wish you were here again

They say a weed is simply a flower in a wrong place and I guess if a particular flower is prolific then it is easier for it to be in the wrong place
